Cool Google Indexing Tool
July 18, 2007 | 4 Comments
A few days ago, I wrote about how a few of the search engine spiders had indexed a few of the new sites. I’m sure you all remember how excited I was! LOL ok… maybe it was just me!
ANYHOW - this evening I was sitting here looking through some of the sites to see just how deep the indexing was - meaning, how many pages did the spiders see and were they were already listing them in the index. I use Google as a measure of success for almost everything to do with the web… If you like to race in circles, beating Dale Earnhardt Sr would be the ultimate win for you - its the same way for Google - if you can get listed, thats half the battle!

Customizing AuctionAds
July 18, 2007 | Leave a Comment
I have read alot about auction ads from people who want MORE customization! I too, needed a bit of customization for one of the sites I have been working on (not quite ready for launch) which is loaded onto my windows server.
Essentially, I took an old copy of an asp vbscript ecommerce application that I have shaped and molded into a SEO performance machine and modified it yet again to be a simple product review site that shows relevant auctionads on each database driven page.

What is Domain Parking?
July 18, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Essentially - once you have purchased or registered a domain name (www.your-domain-name-here.com) though a registar like GoDaddy, it can be parked on a hosting server. The pages that are served to visitors are usually full of links and advertisements that are relative to what you populate into a keywords form. Wikipedia has a great explanation of the domain parking practice at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_parking
Can you make money by parking domains? Sure - there are many people who do nothing but buy domains, new and expiring, and monetize them with google adsense or other ppc ad sources.

Step 1 - Set your Goals
July 16, 2007 | 1 Comment
If you have ever been in a field of sales or marketing.. OK any field in any industry, you know everything starts with a set of goals! Even if you are flipping burgers at the local McD’s - you have a goal of serving up 100 burgers in a typical lunch hour! Back in the day of working for Gateway Computer Corporation as a retail manager, we got to go (OK - they made us go) to this Richardson People Skills training course in Atlanta - one of the primary things we focused on was how to build up our people to succeed by setting SMART Goals!
