Articles for March 2008
Hi Everyone – I know it can be confusing to have both a blog and a forum, but I think we have alot of great resources in here that are occasionally hard to find! (Who noticed the blog redesign and search box?)
Anyhow – as part of my long term goals, I have added a forum to this blog. Nope.. you wont find the link yet, but it will be up and running as soon as I get a few good ideas on what forum categories you feel are MUST HAVE …
Happy Easter! I found many of you had questions about how to properly submit your sites to directories, using SubmitEdge. First let me say that the links and banners on this site DO CONTAIN affiliate codes. I mentioned this once before, but I guess its worth mentioning again.
ANY resource you see listed on this site are actual tools I use myself for building, promoting, tacking and researching my own sites. I post the banners as a method to make it easier for you to find them and if there is …
Hello, Rochelle here. Shortly after I purchased the BANS software I registered a good number of URLs without any consideration to the URL names. Some of them have turned out to be ok but some were very bad choices.
The really bad ones are ones where I had a specific idea in mind but the URLs don’t convey these ideas. So, I would like to hear from you what you think I should do with these URLs. I’m not going to tell you my original intentions because I don’t want to direct …
Hello all!
I hope that you are moving along with Mark’s Build a Niche Store Empire series and are learning some valuable lessons that will help you with all of your BANS stores in the future. After all, BANS is a long-term investment of time/money/effort…from what I’ve been told!
One thing that I’ve learned is that having errors on your BANS site pages is not a good thing…especially when Google, Yahoo and MSN come in to index your site. After watching Mark’s most recent video on LogFiles, I noticed that my …
Well… its been a month or so since you launched your first Build a Niche Store website, and its time to look into your logfiles for the low hanging fruit, or easiest targets for new product pages!
Note: I am also using a different source for hosting the video files. I enrolled in one of HostGators “Unlimited Bandwidth” plans… <grinning> I have uploaded the video onto a different server and it is linked below.
Click for Video – Opens in a new window.
Feedback on the new video is appreciated… good, bad, or …
Monica, one of the blog readers, sent in a question on Tuesday asking about adding both content and store pages to Build a Niche Store. She also had a question about the functions of the sitemap… the video below covers each question in detail! :-)
As many of you know by now… another update for Build a Niche Store 3.0 was released earlier this afternoon. Depending on whether you use the specific affected features, will determine if you need to apply the patch or not. This patch fixes:
1. The “View More Items On eBay” link is not passing over a search query.
2. The bottom two images of Product Layout 5 appear to have a different background color which is passed over from the navigation css code. There was also an issue without Product Layout 4 …
Last week as I was running around at some of my favorite places to read, I ran across an interesting post and for the life of me, I cannot find it again! Basically, it had a small blurb about a great place to find a new niche market… your inbox!
Since I am the webmaster of several ecommerce websites (non-BANS) I have many email addresses and many ways that people can get ahold of me. Along with those addresses. alot of Spam! Roughly 350-500 daily Junk emails! I have most of …
As most of you have already seen this morning, eBay is taking one of the largest affiliate programs inhouse starting May 1st, 2008! The question we all have… is this Good or Bad for Build a Niche Store?
First… let me say that this is not a BAD thing! It will take away the questions everyone has about CJ and their tracking mechanisms. There is not a single day that passes that someone in the BANS forum is not questioning the tracking. Guess what… all those complaints mayhave been a factor …
