Can we assume that data coming from eBay/terapeak is The Most Important data ?
In the above case, if there are over 1000 listings every single day for this item, means that it’s very very popular ?

What if there are very little searches for it on Google ?

although the price is relatively low, but the high number of listings plus the high sell thru makes it hard to refuse ?

Regarding Terapeak… EXACTLY!

In my first comment, I should have said… I would target ALL, and the only one I would do much deeper research is the high page content from BANS.

BANS competition is also only a small part of the total competition! Find your best, or most targeted term…. and check ALL competition across the web.

curious, why to go after a product with almost 2000 BANS pages
and not for the one with only 100 pages with sell-thru 75% and total listings of 3,500 each month ?

is it because of the item’s price difference, $1500 and $100 ?

The only data that would make me look deeper is the first, with 1900 bans pages already. Not that I wouldn’t continue to target the niche, I would just look through some of those sites to see how much optimization has been done already.

ex: If there are 1900 pages of OPTIMIZED content, it may be a trickier niche to rank for, since the original owners already made them unique! If they have just been launched and left alone… I would go after it with both hands in tha air.

There really are no Magic Numbers as to whether it is a good or bad target… I have gone after a few markets with very few products, but high sellthrough.

If the data looks good… the sell through looks good, and the sale price looks food, go for it!

BTW – Terapeak is one of the BEST research tools for this purpose! Good job!

total listings 225(for 1 month)

90 BANS pages with another keyword phrase
sell thru 70%
total listings 430(1 month)
aver. price $150

50 BANS pages
sell thru 78%
total listings 680(1 month)
aver. price $50

100 BANS pages
sell thru 75%
total listings 3500(1 month)
aver.price $100

Are they all ok?
Which scenario is more profitable or more promising ?

Interesting, does exist any formula based on “Sell Thru rate” , “Total 1 month Listings” and “Aver.Price” , that creates a
MagicNumber ? …the higher the better …

The KEI factor is actually a balance between volume and effectiveness.

If a term is searched for 50 times a month with a kei of .10, I probably wont target it.

If on the other hand, it is searched for 2500 times with a kei of .10, I will chase it down!
