OK, I've read through the BANS manual and it says there to enter the search query in the store page.
So that's what I did eg.
'red widget' in the search query box.
This is pulling in predominantly the correct items, however the odd rogue item will still appear.
Not sure why that happens.
Reply - Quote

Mark,

I'm following along with this series and I'm finding it incredibly helpful to say the least. I currently have one BANS store which is earning around $30 month (v1.3).

I have started putting up my 2nd store and have developed my main categories.
Basically, the niche I'm in, ebay only has a main category (no sub categories so all items are in together), so I decided to break up my main categories into things like 'limited edition', 'rare' and also the items I'm selling are popular to buy in various colours, so I thought I would set up a main category for each colour as well.

The thing I'm having trouble with is how do I get the feed to just pull out these items from the main original category.
eg. Limited Edition widget, Rare Widget, Red Widget, Blue Widget etc.

Is there a way I can customise the ebay feed to show only these items on their respective pages?

Thanks again for sharing your BANS knowledge and wisdom with us.

Essentially, there two types of pages in the store... Category Pages, and Product Pages.

For CATEGORY pages (Main categories as I have it listed above) you want to focus on HIGH VOLUME phrases, regardless of the KEI.

For your PRODUCT (Subcategories) Pages, you want the HIGHEST KEI with moderate search volume...

This way you can pair the least competitive terms with the highest volume searches!

Mark, great job, I really like your explanation!!

But still one question about the Main categories before I finish my first 5 stores all wrong:

In the video your telling to take high volume keywords and you don't look at any KEI.

So if I understand correctly for example:
Search 3000/day with KEI 100, and 30.000 other sites
Search 1000/day with KEI 1500 and 600 other sites
I should take the first one?!?

It feels a bit strange to do so...

Mark:

Does singular or plural matter? The text that you used is plural for both the link name and the file name (Hybrid Golf Clubs and hybrid-golf-Clubs). Would this have a different outcome with the search engines had you chosen to use Hybrid Golf Club and hybrid-golf-club? Also, why the capital C in hybrid-golf-Club?

Looking forward to your next video/post.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('2401','Dorian','Mark:\r\n\r\nDoes singular or plural matter?
I was wondering I've found several high sought products on ebay with a hefty price tag but very little search traffic in the search engines.
I noticed when setting up search terms categories that if you try to used advanced search techniques (per eBay) that only the first page of the results will show product. The links to 2nd, 3rd, etc. pages show up with no results. Is there any way to use advanced search techniques?

Also, I can do a search on eBay (title only) that give different results then what BANS gives. Is there a reason for this?
