Earlier this week, I wrote a post about a new Build a Niche Store Search Mod… well, it’s ready for Prime Time!
Until now, there has really been no way to capitolize on what your site visitors are searching for! Sure, the search engines direct a user to your site, but what about those visitors who type something into your site search box?
By KNOWING what they are searching for, you gain that extra edge over your competition! Not only did they find your site, they told you what they want! With the BANS Search Capture MOD, you now have full exposure to that important data AND the ability to turn them into another series of dynamic pages on your site!
Build a Niche Store Search Capture MOD Features:
Once you have the MOD installed, just watch how much more info you enjoy from your visitors!
Cost: I would LOVE to leave this MOD as a freebie for all of you, but I have invested a bit of my own money into a coder for part of it. Therefore, I am going to leave it up to you to tell me how much it is worth to you! You are welcome to use it on as many of your own sites as you wish… I only ask that if you want to tell others about it, you direct them back to this page.
All you have to do to get this mod is go to Paypal via the link below and make a donation. Donations through Paypal will automatically be redirected to the download page for the zip file. Anything above $25 gets FREE INSTALLATION to one of your BANS sites!

04/12/08: Restricted Advanced Search - Being Worked Now
If your templates shows the “Advanced” search feature, it will not currently work and show the advanced options. I recommend holding off a day or two.

Wow what great tool for us to use to make sites better….If pages are searched for and then we add to popular searched page after a few days of more searches can we create new store pages with the new data?? then get rid of the popular searched term in the popular link to the page…
well… got her downloaded and installed… now just waiting for some searches! I “think” all is working well.. I did type in a few searches and the things i searched for doesn’t show up in my list when I log into my admin..
But i do remember when you first mentioned this mod, you wanted folks to visit your site and search for something.. that leads me to believe that if I search from my computer it won’t show up? Does it only show searches from unique visitors or something?
GREAT MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Mod Mark. Works like a charm!
Hello Mark,
Can this MOD be used with any version of BANS?
Thanks,
Mik
@ Mik -
It was written for 2.0 and 3.0… and works great with either of those 2 versions.
The only downside right now is that the advanced search function does not work correctly. The site still searches and captures searches, but the advanced option is non functional.

Just another THANK YOU Mark for this great mod.. I’ve got it on 4 of my stores and already seeing searches on 2 of them.. It takes me about 12 to 15 minutes to do the mod and it’s working great!
Thanks for your hard work! I’m sure this will be a great tool to use for our stores!
Mark,
Excellent mod! Do you know how we can remove the ‘Advanced’ options but still keep the ability to choose what category to search? If so, how?

Has the advanced search been fixed?
Also, is there a way for us to find out what people end up bidding on and buying through our BANS site?
Thanks Mark. You rock!!
