For the past week or so, I have been fighting off a summer flu… I know, it sucks! The main benefit of downtime though, is that you get to read at all your favorite places on the web! It didn’t take too long for me to notice a very common thread among many blogs…

Everyone is Talking about PepperJam!

I guess it must have been about 9-10 months ago that I first read about PepperJam over at the Shoemoneysite and truly, I didn’t think much about it at that time. I was still a fairly new reader at Jeremy’s site and didn’t know the difference between ANY of the affiliate marketing networks.

Fast forward to today… after all of us going through the fairly turbulent transition from CJ with the eBay Partner Network, we can see the need of a more personalized relationship with out affiliate networks! Like I wrote a few weeks ago… The Pepperjam Network is a welcome change  for people like ourselves, who prefer a bit of personalized touch!

Don’t Use Adsense on BANS Sites

Adsense and BANS don’t Mix! 

As you read the other day in my post about a one of my BANS Sites Slapped by Google, I have watched several others very closely. Today, I have found 23 additional sites deindexed. The ONLY common factor between all of these sites are that they made use of an adsense block. Many of them had privacy policies in place, thus eliminating that specific reference as the problem.

23 BANS site with adsense… 23 BANS sites deindexed in the last 24 hours!

At this point, I dont know if it is deeper than just the adsense blocks, or if it was just that a manual review of my own adsense account prompted the actions, but it happened.

I would recommend spending a few hours removing ALL ADSENSE from your BANS sites ASAP.

PepperJam Network Responds to ePN Questions

Since the PepperJam Affiliate Network announced they will be in a partnership with eBay and the eBay Partner Network, there have been several questions regarding how the new system may benefit an existing ePN publisher.

I took several of those questions and sent them in to Mandy at PJ. While every question we have cannot be addressed in an email, I think she answered the most pressing questions in a way that is very easy to understand! Read more

PepperJam Network and BANS - Exactly what the Doctor Ordered!

Earlier this week, I wrote a post about the PepperJam Affiliate Network signing on to deliver content through the eBay Partner Network. Today, many of us were notified by Adam and Kelvin, Developers of the Build a Niche Store affiliate software, that there will be new version of BANS available very soon, that will work in conjunction with the PepperJam Network.

To us… this means that there will be a way to use BANS with the PepperJam EPN Program! (I can hear screams of joy!)

The first question we must all ask ourselves is WHY? Why would it be a benefit to sign up at PepperJam and go through the process of changing out our BANS sites to work with the new program?

Since April 1st and the transition of the eBay affiliate program to its own tracking, there have been MANY people, including myself, slightly worried about the way eBay has tracked and paid out commission. As many of you already know, eBay has admitted EPN tracking issues and is at work to eliminate them, but what about a way to reinvigorate the affiliates out there who have lost trust?

Enter… The PepperJam Network eBay Affiliate Program for BANS

Aside from the increased payouts in the PepperJam eBay Program (Read More), the main benefit to us will be in the way we can monitor and track our PepperJam based BANS sites and have a third party involved for transparency!

At this point, the Pepperjam EPN system works perfect with phpBay pro, a very popular plugin for WordPress that you will learn MUCH MORE about here very soon, to display auction listings on your blog, but we will have a version of BANS soon as well! Stay Tuned!

Signing up for PepperJam is FREE… and once you are a member, you can join the program for the EPN system. I have also found that PepperJam has quite a growing list of sites and offers to choose from other than eBay, so its well worth being a part of!

eBay Acknowledges EPN Tracking Issues!

It looks as though the concern over EPN tracking issues may have been for a good reason!

Tonight as I browsed around, I landed on the EPN forum site and a post with an Update to EPN Tracking!

2) We have also found a discrepancy in the way ACRUs were attributed to affiliates on Commission Junction vs. now with eBay Partner Network…. We are still calculating the magnitude of the impact, but preliminary estimates are that we have missed 8-10% of the ACRUs this way since we launched in April.

In looking through my own clicks/earnings, I have always felt that while auction earnings remained constant, I was missing the ACRU’s from the previous months.

Read the post… it looks like eBay is on top of this and will make it right through a “make good payment” to those they determine were affected.

You have to give them credit for posting about it… and keeping the information in front of us!
