Niche Store Blog Articles

Many of you who have known me for several years, know that I come from a background of custom and personalized web development with a background in SEO. I have been a silent reader of Aaron Wall at SEOBook for several years, I own the SEOBook myself, and when I saw him post an interview of Jon Glick of Become.com today, I ran over to read it!
I suggest ANYONE who is interested in SEO, take a trip over and read the Jon Glick Interview as well. Get a beverage, give yourself …

Today… after 8-9 years of a mutually beneficial, and not always friendly relationship… I have separated myself from using Google as my default search engine, and while the new engine may not be perfect, I have found it to be better, and easier to use, more often. I may choose to switch back one day… but for now, my search business has moved elsewhere.
I Quit Using Google Search for Now!
Why, you ask? The results since the Mayday and Caffeine update…  well, the search results kinda suck!

It takes 2-3 searches to find …

Shoemoney had a post up yesterday about Shawn Hogan, and what is likely to be a very public look into the eBay Partner Network. Shawn, facing 20+ year in a Fed prison and millions of $$ in fines had originally written this on his own site, DigitalPoint, and if any of you wonder why the ePN system has probably changed so much over the last few years… its worth every minute of reading… twice!
Snip:
When I asked them why they would knowingly allow affiliates to violate their terms of service, they …

I was reading a list of top WordPress plugins on another site and saw several that I use very often, but rarely mention because of the confusion they often raise. Believe me, I know how confusing it can be to see long lists of top WordPress plugins, and not know for sure which ones you might want to use on your sites, why they are important… and in some cases, why they are just a waste of time and resources!
In this article, I want to talk about a Kick-Ass Plugin to help …

Last week, I published an example RankSpanker Blueprint Report to give you all an idea of what the report looks like. The example was a Board Games Website Blueprint, and was immediately picked up by a few readers who have already started websites in the niche.
This week, I am going to step into a somewhat busier market, and plan a website around the portable radio niche market.
RankSpanker – Portable Radios
I would build the site in a WordPress backend of primarily pages, and supporting posts, then monetize through:

ePN, Amazon, or CJ Product …

The whole analogy of putting too many eggs into one basket has been hashed hundreds of times! Between people who had ePN accounts terminated last year, to putting too much emphasis on one single website and having it torched by Google, we have run the gamut of putting too much effort into one common denominator. Fortunately for those who have listened… they know all too well.
This message today is slightly different… and gets into a few other common factors I found on the three or four sites of mine that suffered …

Just wanted to make sure everyone knows there has been a update to ReviewAzon to remain compatible with WP 3.0,
In Brads message:
You can obtain the latest updates by simply going to the ReveiwAZON support forum, logging in to the support forum and downloading the latest release from the ReviewAZON Member Files section of the forum.
The fix is very simple and only requires you to update one file, the ReviewAZON.php file located in your blog’s wp-content/plugins/ReviewAZON folder
Surprisingly, I must not be pushing the extreme on ReviewAzon… I didn’t even realize it …

Since mentioning my Niche Builder Services last week, I have answered several of your questions regarding the RankSpanker Report. The most common question is actually… “What Is It, and How Will it Help Me?” The easiest way to envision the RankSpanker, is to look at it like a Niche Site Blueprint.
So… Instead of explaining what it is… I figured I would simply provide an example report for you to see! If you don’t subscribe to the RSS feed… someone probably owns what is written on this page already! The same …

So – After adding the updated version of WordPress 3.0 to a few sites, I noticed a new feature to HostGator users…
WP SuperCache Plugin is automatically installed (Thats a good thing)  but then I spotted this link in my footer: “WordPress Hosting”… linked back to HostGator – WTF! Talk about something I didn’t sign up for!
Turns out is is a plugin that is being automatically installed through the Fantastico system, and you need to go into your site admin > plugins > disable it!

If you do any kind of SEO on your Niche Sites, you know that:

Yahoo likes Backlinks (The more the better!)
Bing Likes Crystal Clear and Logical Navigation (Along with Backlinks)
Google Likes… well, OK. WTF does Google like? :-)

Anyhow – the playing field just got a bit more narrow… as Yahoo will soon start showing the same results as Bing!
More to come…  but having to focus on two major players versus three should help!
Maybe its time to spread some love to Bing?
