Another week and another new BANS Template for WordPress!
This template was widely requested by several readers who wanted the ability to use a commercial WordPress theme with Build a Niche Store. The most important aspect of this newest BANS template is the ease of installation!
I have stumbled on a way to take ANY WordPress theme and easily convert it to work with Build a Niche Store! While we still don’t have a plugin for BANS (and I doubt we ever will) the way I am now converting these templates could not be easier!
With this newest theme - you only have to make 1 edit! Thats right… (install directions) (sample site 1 - and two)
I heard from quite a few of you that it just has to be easier than previous methods of integrating BANS into WordPress and this theme is the answer! With the Chimera WordPress theme for BANS you will realize the following benefits:
I don’t want to scare anyone away from this theme, but you should have at least a small bit of knowledge on image editing. The Chimera theme itself includes raw .png files for all the images used in the theme and you will want to modify those to represent your own site.
Note: This Theme is Designed to have BANS in a /Shop/ or /Store/ folder on your site, Not on the ROOT of the Domain!

By Semi-Static, I mean the page layout gives you the ability to focus on specific products in a more static format, versus the always changing, latest posts, most common with WordPress.

If we already know how to convert a WP theme to a BANS theme, does this template give us anything else? I see there’s a sidebar PHP file involved…does it pull the bans categories to display them on the WP site? THanks for any clarification.
If so, i might be interested in just purcahsing this solution if it’s really faster than waht I’ve been doing. (It doesn’t take long ot make a new BANS template, but keeping it updated is time consuming)
Hi Mark, I noticed on the website where we purchase the chimera theme there are 2 options; single us @ $59 and multiple use @ $109 dollars.
So, does that mean we can only use this theme on one site if we buy the $59 option?
Hey Mark - Nice work on the integration, thanks to you BANS just got a new life!. Just wondering if your BANS Wordpress Template will also work with the Chimera Standard Theme? Also is it possible to relocate one of the narrow right-hand columns to the left of the page so that the main content is then located in the middle of the page?

I would really like to convert some of my existing stores by having this theme and blog on the route. What’s involved?
Slow down will you. Its bad enough having to many domains to develope. Now I have a folder full of themes to use. Just kidding. I’m right on your butt.
FYI. The Flex theme has made me over $300 in the 1 st month on one site. Worth every penny.

EVERYTHING with this type of WP/BANS integration is not only automatic, but retains full WP functionality.
On some older sites, I had copy/pasted the BANS menu into a wordpress sidebar and the menu was there… with this new integration, it is almost like BANS is just another page in wordpress… 100% seamless
I had a reader want to know if it could be done on the Revolution Themes last night… My method of integration took less than 1 hour and the site is already up and in full tilt!

Very cool - is red your favorite color?? Seems like all the templates you’ve done lately are red!!
I hope the colors are easy to change - I just can’t afford to spend a lot of time changing the look, but don’t want it to look like everyone else’s.
And I’m interested in Gerry’s question too, which is can we only use the theme on one site if we buy it, or do we have to buy the more expensive multi-use version??
