You really have to view your site logs to know when the GBot comes and goes. As far as getting your site deep indexed - a good and easy to follow sitemap works wonders! I try to place a link to it at the top and bottom of sites needing a good indexing! Once the site is indexed regularly, you can remove one of the links. Remember - search bots like change... If they come into your site 10 days in a row and nothing is changing, they will likely just back out and wait several more days before coming back again.
