ePN Quality Click Pricing Webinar Q&A

Just a quick reminder to all eBay affiliates, the team at ePN is holding another Webinar on Tuesday morning, at 8:30 am Pacific time (11:30 Eastern time).

Because this proved to be a successful way to communicate with publishers we plan to hold another webinar on Tuesday September 1st at 8:30am Pacific Time.  We realize that publishers will have more questions on the Quality Click Pricing Preview EPCs and this will be a great opportunity to join in the discussion.

Here are the details, and we plan to send this out via email as well:

What is a Webinar?

In case you are wondering, a Webinar is an Online Meeting, where you can either call in at the number above, or you can easily join in a managed website.

Once inside, you will see and hear a live presentation from the folks holding the conference, in this case, Steve and Will (I assume, it was them last week) from eBay Partner network.

During the Webinar, you will have the ability to ask questions and have them answered by the moderators, helping understand the QCP model at ePN.

If you cannot make the meeting, they will provide a recorded version a few days later, that you can view at your own convenience, like the recorded webinar from last week.

    They never answered my questions:

Are you stating that you do not prefer affiliates to use phpbay or bans and prefer your own inhouse rss feeds with pixels? These 3rd party tools do not offer pixels at this time (that I know of). Most believe these 3rd party tools are much better than the epn tools. Are you discounting these 3rd party tools?

How does stating on our page or links “deals on ebay or products on ebay” going to improve your quality? Wouldn’t you measure that traffic as someone who would end up on ebay anyways?

    @ Sean –

I hear ya! They actually answered BOTH of mine! :-)

What is eBay doing to improve the conversion once we SEND the visitor, and what are 5 good and 5 bad, specific things, we can use to understand the quality measurement.

For the second question… I can answer:

The problem is… people click the link and get … “Surprise… You’re on eBay!!” when in effect, they thought they were on an ecommerce site, and click the close button.

If you are upfront about it with visitors… the ones who WANT to buy on eBay will click through, the ones that DONT want to buy on eBay, wont.

@Mark – Guess I’ll have to test that theory by putting the ebay logo image on a couple sites and see if helps the epc quality.

But no matter what – you get tire kickers whether it’s content driven or ecommerce driven, phpbay or bans and you’ll never be right 100% of the time with this new guestimation.

I was going to post a (rant) theory, but I’ll post it later in a few days. Just hard to move on.
