Finishing Up another BANS / Blog Template

orangecrush1.jpgIt’s been another busy few days developing a Template for BANS that incorporates wordpress as the frontend of the site.

This time, I wanted to try and make the process of incorporating a bit easier than the 12-14 steps in the first theme… and it worked! On this new Orange Crush BANS Template, you simply change 6 lines in the template code to match your own domain name and you are done!

I am in the middle of finishing up the installation docs for this new theme and should have it posted and ready for you before the end of the week.

My goal is to release 1 new theme every week… some will be much more advanced than others, as I have learned during the development process of a replacement for my Race Car site, using BANS on the front and WP on the backend.

Many have already noticed the new Templates link in the top menu of the site, this will be the area all new templates are published for either sale or free. (Yes, some of them WILL be be no charge as well)

In addition to the templates being indexed there, I have also decided to use an online service to handle all file storage and downloads. This gives me the ability to not only manage the number of downloads, but also provides an easy way to track who has downloaded them. Tracking is important for the times that there are minor updates… I can touch everyone with one email versus posting on the blog and hoping everyone reads it!

As a side benefit… they also manage an affiliate program as part of their service! While I had never thought about it before the other day, if any of you blog about BANS and want to share the templates with your own readers, you can do so with the added benefit of making a bit of extra cash at the same time! Just visit the templates page and scroll to the very bottom to learn how to sign up.
