Google Buzz – Should Twitter and Facebook be Concerned?

You know… I was going to write a witty post about Google and this new Google Buzz product they are releasing today.

I just don’t have the energy. I am anti-google right now. What ever happened to them being a search engine? Instead, it seems they are indexing everything, including my underwear size, and showing it on their own site instead of referring visitors to the actual websites where the content is! Isn’t that justa  big scraper?

Anyhow… Read Write Web is live blogging it

If you like twitter and you like Facebook – people say you just HAVE to get on the Google Buzz bandwagon!

Or… you can do like me and try to fly outside of Googles privacy prying cookies.

What do You Think? Will you use it?

I expected much more from Google Buzz..I wonder why they have let Orkut (their own social network) orphaned all along and still don’t shy away from creating new social properties..

What we are witnessing is a battle for distribution and market domination. Google want it all in the same way as Microsoft and especially Apple. In a few years time you will be an Apple guy, a Google guy or a Microsoft guy (hardware, software and cloud). We are witnessing the evolution of “Closed Computing” as these respective brands try to lock us in to their platform in order to maximise profit and control.

Apple have done it very successfully and made Google very nervous. Watch our for an Apple Search Engine it seems a logical step to me as everyone continues to tread on each others toes.

Google also announced today that they are beta testing a new high speed broadband network in certain cities.

I believe that over time, they will drive themselves into the ground and become too big for their britches. We may even see them on the Biggest Loser.

They are going from doing something really well or great to trying to do everything everybody else is doing.

    Tea Party!!!!
