I believe that over time, they will drive themselves into the ground and become too big for their britches. We may even see them on the Biggest Loser. Google want it all in the same way as Microsoft and especially Apple. In a few years time you will be an Apple guy, a Google guy or a Microsoft guy (hardware, software and cloud). We are witnessing the evolution of "Closed Computing" as these respective brands try to lock us in to their platform in order to maximise profit and control. Apple have done it very successfully and made Google very nervous.
