Looks like it is that time again… Google is updating the toolbar PageRank! I saw it first VERY late last night over at Courtney Tuttles blog. Court’s site is another very good source of reading when you want to break into earning good money on the Internet.
If this is like any other PR update, it will likely be a 24-36 hour process of seeing some pages change immediately and others over the course of a day or two. Don’t make the mistake of checking ONLY your main page, check some of your deeper pages like your sitemap and any other pages you have linked into for ranking.
A few notables of my own thus far:
PR is only one small factor, but it seems to carry so much weight in the world of optimization! Congrats to all who gained!

I’m not sure about the whole PageRank factor when it comes to optimization. I’ve tried diggin through your site, and can’t seem to find a little step by step intro to google page rank. Any suggestions?

Hey Mark, just took a quick spin through my BANS sites that are more than 3 months old and lo and behold: A couple PR3 sites! That is the best I’ve done in my short career online (which has included a variety of methods - not just BANS). I give you all the credit Mark! Thanks for your great advice.

Well PageRank can be a big thing or it can be a big surprise. An example would be how two of my websites that have never had PR at all and are new have gone from N/A to PR4.
You might think that I have great content on those sites and worked long and hard but you’d be dead wrong. I haven’t put any content on those sites and I don’t have a single backlink or indexed page.
The PR will most likely disappear in a few days but just in case I think I better start adding content if I ever expect to get a PR5 there. :)
Most of my sites (21) have gone up at least one PR point and one site that had been banned from google’s index returned and has a PR3.
So for me this has been a great day as long as tomorrow reads the same for my sites and their new PR.

Out of my 12 sites, my very first site with contents, customization, mods, etc. is PR1 (was PR1 then PR0 and now PR1 again), and one of my sites just out of box and about 2 months old is PR3!! No contents at all… strange. Everything else from N/A to PR0

One of my BANS sites, launched in March came in with a pr4. Several others also went from zero to pr4. Others gained a pr3.
On the pr4 sites, a lot of interior pages now have a pr3. Who knows what all this is worth, but it can’t hurt. Overall, I’m pleased, having just gotten started with BANS at the first of this year.
Okay, a newbie is about to express her ignorance - where can I find my Page Ranking “score”? Thanks in advance!
A lot of my sites have picked up PR, some PR1 and one of my sites went from PR1 to PR0. Hopefully my PR1 sites stay PR1 fingers crossed.

somewhere on your google toolbar there should be a “add buttons to your toolbar” button.. click that and it’ll take you to a page to add buttons, search for pagerank and the first one that comes up should be the right one called “Page Rank Search Engine” click out beside that to add to toolbar
then you can search any URL with the new button it places on your toolbar.
oh, and you may have to update your google toolbar to the latest version for it to work…
My sites are all 0’s but they are all under 5-6 weeks old so I may not be tall enough to get on this ride yet!

Googles new ranking for my sites seems to have been very kind to me this time.
My Site Video Game Connections is just over 60 days old and ranked quit well for a new site. My first store Steelhead Gear.com also did well. At least my sites are in the rankings now!

My first update and no result on this site. I have not really been bloggging lately as I am halfway through building 250 bans sites. (your templates are great btw) Still, by the time the next update comes around I should have plenty of PR juice.
I have just gone from PR 0 to PR 3 on my main site and am now focussing on building a BANS site into the blog too!
I had a couple PR0’s to PR3’s…..and one or two PR0’s to PR1’s!
