Google Web Hosting

I went to lunch with 2 of my sons today and we started talking about the reach Google has on the web and into our lives… Along with a few crazy viral website ideas, Mark, my oldest son asks where he can get Google Web Hosting?

Of course, my first reaction was that Google does not offer Web Hosting… but as I thought about it more, I realized we are all already using Google Web Hosting for everything we do!

Google Web Hosting – That’s Not Officially Web Hosting

  • Want to Store Video? YouTube = Google!
  • Need Somewhere to Store ImagesPicasa = Google!
  • Email in the Cloud? Ever heard of a program called Gmail? Yup, Google.
  • Banner Ad Manager for your Advertising space… Google Ad manager
  • Want a Blog? How about a free Blogger-blog? Yup, Google Web Hosting and you can even point your own domain name to it!
  • If you want to Park a DomainAdsense for Domains – Yup, Google.
  • Google Page Creator…
  • Manage email subscribers? Feedburner – Kinda fills the free gap to a mailing list app.

The point is… the list of Google Web Hosting products given to us at no charge, goes on and onĀ as you can see by the list of Google products at Wikipedia!

Anyhow… it is what it is. I may just try to build a new site using nothing but google web hosting products and see how it comes out! EVERYTHING I could want to include on the site… well its provided free!

Thinking out loud… Done.
