I’m still mulling this over. I still think the account manager you were speaking to has it wrong, but maybe his confusion is only partial.

Google’s keyword tool is used to help advertisers find words to use in their ads for Google Adwords, so there is some relation to it and PPC. That’s where I think he sees the connection.

But the best way for them to invest in ads that work is to know what people are searching on, hence the results you get from the tool.
