I Almost Shot Myself in the Foot – Don’t make the Same Mistake!

I know alot of folks are still on the fence in regard to the new Build a Niche Store Guide. Like yourself, I came very close to watching it pass, thinking I knew everything that was in the guide and didn’t want to part with the $24 for something I already knew enough about.

If you have read any of the reviews… by now you might be getting the idea, its actually a very well written and informative guide! If you haven’t read the reviews, here are a few you can check out!

Even an Old Dog Like Me Learned a Few New Tricks!

Many of you are already aware I am building a new Golf Putter Guide website based off the exact methodology I am finding in the guide. Over the weekend, I had a “Eureka Moment” as I was researching & planning the site content (Section 2 in the guide) … Its nothing really new per say, but when it all came together following the steps outlined by Adam and Kelvin, it was fairly enlightening!

In case you missed it – when the new site is built, I am giving it away in a Niche Site Contest… for readers over at the new site. My plan is to have the site live within a few weeks, then feed the content throughout the first 90 days, and handing over the keys to the 90+ page site to the new owner at the 90 days mark!

If Your On the Fence – It Will Cost More Tomorrow!

If you have not decided to get the guide yet, in less than 24 hours, the cost of the guide is increasing from $24.95 to $44.95! Yup… the price goes up!

I agree with what you said. I really wasn’t going to buy this guide, even though the cost is very reasonable (even at the higher price). But I’m glad I did, as I, too, learned something I didn’t know. And I’m only up to section 4.

I agree as well, was on the fence and then read Marks, Rochelle’s, and Ben’s review and bought it – very nicely done – brings things to light that I’d forgotten as well as new ideas.

I always wanted to buy the guide just to see what they had managed to get inside but I love it. Yes there are parts which are for the newbie but it has certainly changed my thought process of many aspects of niche site building.

I’m well into a site build following the guide through and I will be watching your progress closely on your site build, Mark.

Well call me a dumbass for this one but I was ready to buy the guide but a friend called me up to go fishing and I accepted,. Then I completely forgot until this morning.

I know better than that. :(

I don’t know if it is just me, but have started feeling that this blog is carrying so many ‘paid to review’ ads now.

Anand – What are “Paid to review” ads?

  • Anand said:

    Rochelle

I am talking about blog posts that apparently don’t come as honest advices, but written cos the author gets paid to review them. Check out sites like payperpost and reviewme; you’ll know.

    @ Anand –

I can definitely appreciate what you mean Anand… but I don’t do paid reviews at all. Actually, I did one or two in 2007, and clearly marked them as such.

I realize the past few days have been posts about the BANS guide, but due to the price increase and the nature of the site visitors, it was actually very needed.

I mentioned to someone else in email already this morning, I have had no less than 20 emails from readers, upset they missed the deadline to buy the product at the reduced rate.

Of the 10 posts this month… 4 of them had to do with the guide, and one had to do with the shoemoney guide.

    Thanks for the comment tho!

    :-)

    Anand – Thanks for clarifying.

Only Mark knows if he is getting paid to say any of the things that he says. However, I know Mark to be an honest guy.

Sure, he has affiliate links in his blogs, but he has never tried to conceal that fact. And, affiliate links are different than getting paid to write something. The information he freely provides here is highly valuable, the kind of stuff other people often sell instead of give away.

I would be completely shocked to learn that Mark has been pulling the wool over our eyes by pushing products purely for a profit. Nope, I believe everything on here is here because Mark stands by it.

There was more I was going to write to convince you of Mark’s integrity, but I just realized that people will believe what they will believe, regardless of what I might say, and that’s fine. My belief is that Mark is honest about what he writes here.

    Hi Mark

I am really sorry if I had offended you in questioning your integrity. To be honest, I do not own a niche store myself (eBay didn’t let me because I was from India, duh), but had subscribed to your feed because you come up with interesting points every now and then.

But when I see it from the point of all the niche store owners here, I do now realize that you were talking about something that is of value to your target group here.

Rochelle’s post above also stands testament to that. My apologies again..

    @ All – I appreciate the confidence!

    @ Anand –

No probs at all, I really didnt take it as offensive. Moreso, I actually questioned my own posting about the same thing more than 2 times in such a short period of time, as I wrote the posts over the past week or so…

In the end, your reasoning is the exact reason I did post it… it was timely and useful to most of the readers of the blog.

Thanks again Anand… no harm no foul here.

On a side note – that sucks about being turned away from ePN for your Geo location. I can relate though as Amazon just terminated my account with them, since I am NC and some crazy NC laws being talked about for taxing affiliates for earnings. aka the Amazon Law.

After reading your blog post and Suzanne Franco’s, I feel better about purchasing the product. It also helps that BANs has kept the price down to the 24 and some odd cents for the package. Thanks for the post!

Mark is one of the few stand up guys I’ve interacted with online. He gives a LOT of himself and asks little in return.

He might be a lot of things, but a paid review whore isn’t one of them.

Can we block comments on this post now? LOL

    I’m starting to feel miserable…

We here at TNSB.. are loyal to Mark, I guess you see that now… nobody is trying to make you feel bad. but we stand by what this site teaches .. after all some of us(me) knew absolutely nothing about niche sites and marketing til Mark came along..

You can have faith and rely on him… You will see as time progresses that he gives alot more than he takes… welcome home to TNSB..Anand

I have to say that I found and find your remarks offensive. I read your comments last week and decided not to comment as other people had already put you straight. I have come back to this post today and still find what you say offensive. You do not question whether there are paid reviews here you make a straight accusation that “this blog is carrying so many ‘paid to review’ ads now.” You imply that there are numerous paid reviews here without bothering to find out if that was in fact true – you only had to ask.

One of the many reasons I come here (and many others do as well) is that we KNOW that we will get Mark’s honest opinion on a product or service. This is extremely valuable – the internet is full of worthless reviews. If you look closely here you will find that there is a wealth of information that is given to us for free that many IM gurus package and charge a fortune for.

I don’t want to make you feel bad, but equally if you’re prepared to make the sort of comments you have made here, you have to take the flack that will come from a loyal readership who believe in Mark’s integrity.
