I Did it…. I Quit Smoking!
I have gotten many emails asking one thing… How Are you Doing? Thank you for all the emails and actually, I’m doing quite well! I tried like hell to get on here yesterday and provide everyone with an update to the days events, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t concentrate long enough to string together ANYTHING longer than a sentence or two! Many of my email replies to different people, really didn’t even make much sense! LOL
I came back up here to the top and added this sentence after the post was written -This was one of the HARDEST POSTS I have ever written! I continually misspelled words, put words in different order than I was “thinking” them, etc.
Hypnosis Must be a Good Niche Market
One of the first things I realized after stepping into her office yesterday… there must be a lot of folks who believe in what she does! The office was in a high-rent area of Matthews NC, and the furniture and overall office decor was very nice and very professional. Of course, I had to fill out a 6 page questionnaire… so there was plenty of time to look around. I was the absolute ONLY person in the office other than her, which immediately got my internal calculator running to try and figure out her daily gross revenue, and understand the viability of the niche market! (I’m funny like that)
I Don’t Recall Much of What She Said
I would estimate that the first 45 minutes or so were spent just talking about my smoking habit. we talked about what I thought were going to be the hardest times to get through, my habits associated to social activities, the amount of time each morning before my first puff… and every aspect of my love/hate relationship with cigarettes!
Then she talked me into relaxing… and while I do remember the entire experience of it, I don’t “clearly” recall alot of what she said… I DO however remember when she told me to envision myself being at a funeral. I could see the different layers of dirt in the ground, and in the bottom of the grave… was my pack of cigarettes. My relationship with them is over!
I don’t know exactly how much longer it was, but I realized I had not eaten lunch and I was on my way out the door to go eat something!
I have not smoked or even looked for a cigarette since…
My Body and Mind are All Jacked Up!
So… I smoked on and off for 28-30 years. For the first 4 days of not smoking, I have to deal with my body cleaning itself out. Period…
Last night and today, I am sore… Sore like I spent 6 hours working out in a Gym. From my feet to my neck, every muscle inside of me is screaming for some nicotine! My mind seems to be drifting in hundreds of directions, and while I can sit down and pull up some work in front of me, actually concentrating long enough to accomplish anything, is another story! I have wondered if lack of ability to focus was a suggestion to get me to come back for a second visit!?
I’m drinking so much Juice, it’s flowing from my pores to try and help overcome the shock my body is going through!
3 More Days of this crap… and I should be cleaned out!

Marky Mark! Congrats bud… that’s a wild sounding experience.. i think i’ll go get hypnotized just for the hell of it hahah..
If you need to clear your mind and get away, you and Kim hop in the “tang” and ride up to Mayberry and Misty and I will give you the grand tour! haha.. you could probably be here in 15 minutes the way you drive haha!
Hang in there man!!! Think of those grand kids you want to see some day!!
Very cool Mark. I hope it sticks for you. I have been smoking as long as you and tried to stop many times. Ive never made it more than a few days. You’Ve inspired me to try again.
Congrats, Mark! We’re pulling for you these next 3 days. Just keep focusing on all the positives of successfully quitting – your family, better health, more cash & not being deindexed (you think I was joking?!).
Got Juice?
Good for you Mark… I read somewhere that Calcium, like Citrical will help to flush the toxins out of your body faster…I do not know where I read it…but Juice away…I wonder will Beer help with the flush?? It flushes everything else…..
Go Mark!
You can do it!
Yeah, Mark!
(That was from your cheering section here in Florida…)
Mark,
I know that’s one of the things that non-smokers don’t realize. How much your body, separate from your brain, needs the nicotine you’ve supplied it with all those years.
Kudos, to you for getting some work done and having a post up for your readers regardless of how hard it was to write.
Now go on with your bad self!
Jeff
Way to go Mark, Im a smoker to and wouldn’t mind quiting myself but right now I am in the process of losing weight and have been doing so for ten weeks now. Sunday is the end of ten weeks. I am doing a great job very focused and I will succeed. Great Work.
Congratulations Mark:
Knew you had it in you!
Stay strong!
Take it one day at a time Mark
Just work out how much your going to save over a year and what a great present you’ll be able to buy yourself as a reward for your efforts. A bran new computer? World trip? lol
I don’t clearly remember at least 3/4 of what my wife tells me….does this mean she has me hypnotized?
:-)
Good luck man.
Good luck Mark
I’m a non smoker and when I started dating with my wife (which was a one-pack-a-day smoker) I nagged her soooo much because of this nasty habit that she finally gave up! Just look how much she saved on hypnosis treatment living with this ‘ol pain-in-the-buttocks!
Great decision, Mark! If your willpower is so good as your Internet Marketing skills, I’m sure that you will pass this test with flying colors.
Just a final thought:
No one can go back and make a brand new start. Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
Congrats on your decision to quit smoking! I quit 6 years ago by going “cold turkey.” I started smoking as a teen and decided to quit as my 40th birthday present to myself plus my Dad had a quad-bypass the same month I quit. YOU CAN DO IT! Best wishes for continued success!
Hey Mark
Great stuff, congratulations, fight those cravings and keep up the good work :)
Ben
Mark,
Good luck on quitting. I have four more packs until I stop my 15 year habit. My reason is simple. I’m not paying the ridiculous new taxes Congress has passed that drove cigarettes up over $5 a pack where I live. I really not strapped for cash, it’s principle. When I see how the federal government is mismanaged, I could care less to donate any more money to them.
Even more reason to stay off after quitting !!
Good Luck !!
Glad to hear those words. “I quit smoking” Excellent Mark. Keep up the great job and get healthier day by day.
Great man, I actually have myself my 1-year-without-smoke behind me. After a lung collapse and a one week stay at emergency it isn’t that hard to quit :)
