Instantly Increase Conversions on an Offer

Not too often I rave about a new script or tool… but a few weeks ago I found a utility called Instant SlideUp, and I it more than paid for itself in less than 30 minutes on one website!

Like many of you, I have websites that use offers other than just the eBay Partner Network. One of those is a site about avoiding home foreclosure, which as you can imagine, is busier than hell!

I wanted to find a way to get the CPA offer in front of readers without using a banner, since many people, including myself, are ad-blind to banners… meaning, we just don’t pay any attention to them! Well, I picked up Instant SlideUp about 3-4 weeks ago to use on a project with Kim and as soon as I saw how it worked, I installed it onto the foreclosure site, leading to a NeverBlue offer that pays $17.50 per action.

The site gets about 250 VERY targeted visits a day… and up until installing the Instant SlideUp,  I saw roughly 10% click-through and of those, about 2-3 conversions every day from a “Qualify Now” text link in the header section. Once I added the instant slider to the footer of the site… clickthrough exploded to 39% and I have had at least 10 signups for the offer EVERY DAY since it was installed!

On another site where it was installed, Kim used it to increase the RSS subscribers to her new site. She went from a brand new site with 0 subscribers in Mid April, to more than 75 subscribers within 2 weeks of using it, and that number continues to grow today!

I wrote a full Instant SlideUp Review over at Script Critics this morning… and if you have an offer you want to see soar, get it today!

Right now, the developer is selling it for $67, which allows you to install it on unlimited websites. It comes with more than 25 templates and installs in less than 5 minutes, with no database required! I cannot rave enough about this tool – it simply works! Grab a copy of instant slideup now!

    Hi Mark

I’ve seen a few versions of this idea knocking around, all for around the same price. I have to be honest i do like it, it’s quite un invasive and is quite subtle in the way it appears to visitors.

I think I will certainly be investing in a copy over the next few days.

    Cheers

    Mark,

    Couple of questions.

    1) can it be set to show only on certain pages?

    2) can a different message be used on each page?

  • Mark (author) said:

    @ Brent –

On the Script Crtics site, I used a custom field to show iut only on the page of the review.

As far as different messages, I assume with separate installs, it could.

    @ Ben –

On the sites I am using it on… its almost like AFTER the person is in the midst of reading something, (3-5 seconds on page) it slides up and instantly grabs their attention!!

Serious about conversion rate increase on the foreclosure site…

    Hey Mark

I’ve had my eye on this for the last couple of weeks after it sucked me in on Josh Spalding’s site. I knew it had potential but you’ve just sealed the deal.

This is a great script…I love it so far BUT…I use Brian Gardners Revolution templates….it is apparently interfering with the Featured Content Gallery plugin as they both use JS.

Anyone know of a work around for that?

Mark…emailed you….you’re supposed to be there waiting for it 24/7.

    :-D

    @ Mike –

I like it for sure!! I spotted it at Ian Fernando’s site several weeks back and had to have it then! LOL

The possibilites are endless with it!!

    @ Bill M –

I never got your email man!! Good to hear from ya though!!

The ScriptCritics site is a highly modded Rev theme using the FCGallery plugin also… no problems!!

Where are you inserting the JS code from the slider? Try putting it in the footer area, just before the closing tag.

How do you show it on one page but not on another? If it’s in the footer it should show on all of your pages…but on SC it only shows on the actual review page?

    Am I missing something?

  • Bill M said:

    Tried the footer…same thing.

  • Mark (author) said:

    @ Bill –

I use a “custom field” in the post area… you know me and custom fields! :-)

In the footer of the theme, I just check for the conditional field, and show it, if the field exists.

I have 500 indexed pages….so going back and adding a custom field now seems painful.

Could I add code to exclude the JS based on what page it is?

I tried this in the header file.

but it didn’t work. Should it?

  • Bill M said:

Hopefully it posts this time.

  • Bill M said:

if this one doesn’t work…I will email you the code.

  • Bill M said:

    Mark..the include file works perfectly.

    Thanks for the help.

    @ All –

In case you were wondering about Bills question… what he wanted to do was show the slider on ALL pages, EXCEPT his blog homepage, since it interfered with another plugin.

    Inside the header… just add:

    < ?php if (!is_home()) {?>

< < INSERT THE JAVASCRIPT SLIDEUP CODE HERE >>

    < ?php}?>

Something I’ve got to ask. How are you using the script to get paid for the CPA offer. Is it just a case of adding the name and email to the slideup?

  • Mark (author) said:

    @ Mike –

I tried replying direct and it returned with a 500 error from the mailserver, address not found! :-)

Anyhow – if you want to see how I am using it on a CPA… string these three words together to make it a .com…. “obama foreclosure plan”

The slider comes from the bottom after 4 seconds. (Users spend an average of 6 seconds onsite, so I wanted it to slide in before they leave!)

    Mark,

I’m using WordPress and although I am fairly familiar with WP – I cannot figure out how to get this thing installed. Am I missing something?
I’m about ready to give up. Shouldn’t have tried this on a Monday.

    Steve

  • Mark (author) said:

    @ Steve –

This is completely independant of WP…

Have you gotten the slideup installed/configured and just cannot get the slider to work, or can you not even get it installed.?

I’m getting back a message that says in part: [path]/instantslideup/configure/configure.php has expired or is corrupt.”

  • Mark (author) said:

    @ Steve –

Thats usually the result of being uploaded in a non-binary way.

I used cPanel to upload the zip file to a folder on the host, extracted it on the server itself, then just moved the files from there.

The way I do it is like this…

1 – cPanel > file manager > upload the zip to the root folder of the site you want it on.
2 – Click once onto the new zip file name, and choose “Extract”, right inside the file manager.
3 – Follow the chmod permission settings inside the directions.
4 – Follow the install config from instructions.
    5 – Start using it!

Ummm have to check that email.

Anyhows I’ve taken a look and I see how its working. I’ve bought the script via your link but can’t get it to work properly on my first install! Well it does work but t clashes with the Featured Content Gallery plugin which stops working.

Any idea on a work round?

Back to your Obama site, the link is currently redirecting to Webfetti.com. Surely that isn’t right is it?

    Mike

  • Mark (author) said:

    @ Mike –

The offer is a USA ONLY offer, so when an international IP ius detected, it goes to webfetti automatically.

Bill had the same issue with the FCG plugin… on his site, he just put it on every page EXCEPT the home page by using the code mentioned in these comments.

Let me install it on a site with FCG and see whats up with it.
