Keywords to Websites | K2W Update Coming Monday!

I woke up this morning to find a fresh copy of the Keywords to Websites in my email from Mark W. for weekend testing of some much requested changes Also, the $30 Off code WSO still works!

Changes in this new version -

  • Added:  Option to nofollow all outgoing links.
  • Added: Option to open all outgoing links in new window.
  • Added: Link Cloaking For Ebay and Amazon With 301 Redirects.
  • Added: Option to limit Amazon.com results to a single Asin.
  • Added: Price And Buy Button To Amazon Results

K2W Results to Date

I have talked to many of you who have started using this on some of your parked, or new domains and the consensus is very much the same, people LOVE it! According to Mark, the next major update (no date yet) will include more visual changes to the way it works, versus mechanical. IE: It will work easier with ANY WordPress theme, without having to get your hands code dirty.

A longtime reader said today that after he built his site (+300 pages) he went ahead an used the Vice-Versa plugin (I removed the link since this plugin has become suspect to phishing. Use at your own risk), converted all the generated posts to pages, and used the main tab menu to create a true e-commerce looking site! In his own words:

It’s indexed and on the first page for the exact term as the Keyword and Domain Name. I hope it stays there.  Pretty neat to build 300+ pages in couple of hours of mainly keyword research. Crazy.

I have plugged out almost 10  sites using this plugin now… ALL of them have already been indexed and started getting traffic in the short 10-14 days of their lives! :-)

Been testing the latest version myself and I particularly like the new asin function for use where non-relevant amazon results were returned. The eBay RSS feed is another matter though as this doesn’t pull as many products as the api alternative. The vice versa tip for converting posts to pages is a great one. I figured this myself the other day after reading Soggy Dave’s wordpress plugin list.

Mark: You amaze me. You gently introduce us to a fantastic new program K2W, then without any fanfare you lay out this oh by the way here is a plugin that will change the way our world turns. I believe you might be able to lead an horse to water and make them drink. Thank you for another great helpful posting.

@Mike – I think Daves post is where the other reader found the vice-versa plugin also Mike!

Not sure if you have stretched outside the included theme yet, but it works great in any other theme also!

The eBay results are the next sticking point… maybe not the number of results for me, but the way they are displayed. I have fought myself from changing it on my own sites, since it will no longer be compatible with the updates.

One thing that I am really liking about this plugin is that I can remove ANY module from ALL posts with a simple update of the plugin settings. I don’t need to worry about having to go into every single post/page created if I later decide to remove one or more of the modules.

Hey Markie Mark – LOL – watched Mark Whalberg on Letterman the other night.

What do you mean by this “changing it on my own sites, since it will no longer be compatible with the updates.”?

Yes, I like the Viceversa plugin too, just so happened I stumbled across it that same day I was asking Mark on how to make ktw use Pages instead of Posts. Whalla – found the other plugin on Soggy’s site. Just wish I could change them in Bulk.

I’m not using it on the outofthebox theme, looks GREAT on some others. It may display funny, but you can go to the Reading Section of WP and change the display from the default of 10 to 1. Speeds things up a bit too if someone lands on your category page.

  • Mark Hansen (author) said:

@Sean – Re the compatibility thing Sean, it would mean a full rewrite of the eBay returned data. Right now, it looks to be setup to accept a title, image and description. The description portion is just an automatic bundle of what you see (price, description, add to watch list, etc)

By changing that… if there are other updates in between the feature being put into the plugin itself, it gets kinda jinky.

The pages versus posts is a pretty easy coding change, so I’m sure mark is already all over it, and it will be an option soon! :-)

In those other themes you are using…. just dig into the files and remove the “the_content” in the pages that display more than 1 (Like archives, index, etc) Then it will display ONLY the title.

Hey Mark: I am not sure if I am the only person with this problem. I loaded WP on a brand new site. I went to add plugin and uploaded K2W and installed it. WP said it installed correctly but it is not in the plugin list. I also tried loading it manually with Filezilla same result. Do you have any ideas what the heck I am doing wrong?

As usual thank you for the help

    Dave,

There are two folders in the folder that you download for this plugin. One is for the plugin, the other for the theme. Make sure you are uploading the plugin folder, and NOT the one that you downloaded after you purchased the plugin.

    @Rochelle@DaveT

Ditto to what Rochelle just mentioned. The “DOWNLOAD” comes with both a plugin folder and a theme folder. I found it easiest to upload them directly with cpanel > file manager, then extract it on the server and move the files to their correct folders.

Rochelle and Mark: Ty it is working just perfect. Now I have to figure out how to best use MNF to create a keyword list. I have used it for finding domain names but not for keyword lists. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Do you know if, for those of us that recently purchased it, if the update will be available as a download or will we have to re-purchase.

    Thanks

    Phil

  • Mark Hansen (author) said:

@Phil – You should be good to go when he posts it Phil. An email will be sent out I’m sure. As far as I know, updates are included at no cost, forever! :-)

  • Rochelle said:

Regarding updates, the site says, “ou get free updates for a year when additional templates or affiliate modules are released. We charge one price for all of them.”

  • Bob said:

I do have one concern about K2W. Won’t google gray bar it and de-index it almost immediately?

  • Mark Hansen (author) said:

@Rochelle – Doh ** Thanks for that Rochelle!

@Bob – This is no different than BANS Bob. If you put up a thin site and leave it very thin… it probably going to have problems.

If you use the plugin to prepopulate a bunch of keyword targeted pages, then revisit them and add value to them with unique content, pictures, etc… probably not!

    :-)

    Hi Mark

I have a problem, I clicked on your link above and put in the discount code but when I click the paypal button I get invalid processor. What do I do? I don’t want to go to the WF direct and miss you out of the link

  • Cherie said:

thanks for getting it fixed, have now got it

  • Rochelle said:

Was there an email sent out about the update? I didn’t get one if there was.

  • Mark Hansen (author) said:

@Rochelle – Not sure Rochelle, but when you purchased… it was AFTER the latest updates had been in the product. (I think)

    @Cherie – Glad to hear Cherie! :-)

  • Cherie said:

Re Vice Versa plugin, what’s the difference between that and the posts to pages one? Is it just the category choice?

  • Bruce said:

Are you having an epic fail with the plugin — I am , here is a bunch of people with the same problem… it reminds me of the the old bans trick to find bans sites

    …Fatal error: Cannot redeclare…

Edited to remove part of the query.

  • Mark Hansen (author) said:

@Bruce – Interesting find Bruce. I pulled out part of your statement to avoid the inevitable rash of people looking through other peoples sites…

I have no issues at all on my end with it though. Working flawlessly and making quarters! :-)

Have you asked MW about it? It seems like its one of those issues that effects people who are trying to show too many results?! Not sure…

    Mark

  • Bruce said:

    @Mark Hansen

Well I did fire off a question to him, but he doesn’t have any type of formal bug reporting system, and he didn’t respond.

So I thought I would post here — since I found out about it here… next its off to the warrior forum

Oh and I only have 2 ebay and 2 amazon items.

a worse search is this [/keywordstowebsites]

  • Mark Hansen (author) said:

@Bruce – I’m surprised he is not answering, he is usually on top of it.

I wonder if the previous find is a specific host issue?! Who do you host with?

Re: the /keywordtowebsites] string, footprints are always a killer of any good tool for sure!!

    Mark

  • Cherie said:

    Ouch! on the string

  • Mark Hansen (author) said:

@Cherie – Its actually common with any plugin Cherie, its not an issue specific to this one. (You can find thousands of results with [/phpbay] also)

It happens whenever the html is indexed.
