Kickstart Earnings from Day 1 – Revenue Domains Exposed
There have been MANY questions in the blog and the forum on 2 very specific subjects. What other methods can we use to monetize websites, and How do you find GREAT DOMAINS for the purpose of BANS or other forms of affiliate marketing. As many of you already know, BANS is not the only way to make money online and I have a few blogs that are monetized with AdSense and a few other small ad networks, including the eBay Partner Network.
Brian Johnson, a reader of this blog and a successful BANS user, sent me an email last week asking me to take a look at a new e-book he published, called Revenue Domains Exposed. First and foremost, this is the first time I have reviewed or promoted ANY kind of ebook on this blog! I have however read many… with the hopes that they may useful to you, the readers. You have not seen any of those reviewed for a good reason!
The one thing that makes this particular e-book better than the rest is pretty simple… it actually provides useful information and methods that work! Along with the 52 pages in the e-book itself, Brian also provides more than 10 separate Camtasia videos, walking through each step of the process as if it were on your own desktop.
So… what do you get for your $97 and how does it benefit you?
To summarize, Brian walks through very specific steps on how and where to buy GREAT (and cheap!) expiring domain names that not only have authority due to their age, but have existing traffic in specific niche markets. I could immediately relate to the success he talks about with this strategy as I have done the same with two of my own niche sites.
Of course, having the domain is only one small part of the process. We all know that using BANS can be profitable, but Brian also walks you through the methods to build mini sites on the domains using free tools you already have like WordPress (included with hostgator accounts) as well as a linked list to all the plugins you can use to help develop the mini site and monetize it quickly! In his own words… once you have the process down, you can easily buy a domain and build a complete mini site in less than 3-4 hours, and it comes with that one thing we ALL want, existing, targeted traffic!

Each chapter of this e-book is broken into very specific topics that walk you through step by step methodology on how to capitalize on these expired domains! Whether you choose to use mini sites or build out BANS sites on the domains, you are sure to succeed!
I mentioned earlier in this post about one of my own sites that is developed with an expired domain. Around February 1st, I launched a Ninja Motorcycle site with a domain I bought for $30. SlickNinja was initially registered in 1999 and came with a very beneficial PR3 in the google toolbar! (I’m still surprised it has not faded yet) Immediately, the site was graced with 350 daily page views of TARGETED visitors that were left over from the previous domain owner.
Key Stats: Launched Feb 1st, 2008
Pageviews / Earnings
-
Feb: 9270 / $63.70
-
March: 9033 / $106.19
-
(Trending) April: 12,831 / $219.68
The SlickNinja site is just one example of buying an existing domain and monetizing ASAP to get in front of the existing traffic. I used BANS on the site, but I am already watching a few more domains using Brian’s methods and will continue to report my findings as this new way of affiliate marketing takes hold!
I have to say that one of the most interesting parts of the book for me was the in-depth section on Google Guidelines, and how to follow each of them to stay on the good side of Google. :-) Brian walks through each section of the guidelines and goes over what you need to be aware of in regard to duplicate content, (and how to avoid it!) spamming, etc. From a technical view, I thoroughly enjoyed this section!!
When you are ready to kickstart your earnings on ANY niche based website, use the methods at Revenue Domains Exposed to get a jump on your competition!
As always – I welcome your comments

I actually spent about 2-3 hours again this morning, reviewing some of the practices Brian talks about in the series. I am watching 4 domains… each of them has 3-4 years of steady history and all are PR2 or higher, with existing traffic!!
The highest price of those I am watching is $30…
I am actually very excited to see the outcome and already have the plans in place for the sites should I get the domains.

I’m kinda jealous of your head start. I just have to finish an article I’ve been working on this week and then my time will free up to dig in deeper.
I really don’t buy many ebooks, but I’ve been following your blog and can see you’ve been doing your homework…..so I thought I’d take you’re advice. Sure – I know lots of the stuff in the ebook but there are definitely some nuggets in there that will pay off the ebook. I always appreciate it when the author mentions that yes, it will take some hard work to succeed.

I bought an expiring domain several months ago because it like about 6 years of history and a page rank higher than most of my BANS sites which are quite new. And it had a good name to use as a domain for a niche I had in mind.
Imagine my shock when I won the thing and it got registered to me. All the history disappeared – it looked like a brand new site, with all record of its previous existence gone. I didn’t pay much for it thank goodness, but it was still several times what I would have paid if I’d bought a new domain at one of the cheap domain sellers’ sites.
So how did you guys manage to keep the history of the site along with the domain?? I called the selling outfit’s support line, and they told me this is what happens when old domains get re-registered.

When a domain expires, over the course of a several months… all Pagerank goes away. The important thing however, is that if you keep the new site you develop on the same topic as the original, and you will capitolize on one of the other age factors… backlinks!
If a site has 150 backlinks in any of the search engine indexes, those do not disappear. As long as you keep the new site on the same topic as the original domain, you will gain instant traffic from those backlinks and a very short amount of time to regain your PR.

Hey I bought Revenue Domains Exposed also and think it is a great way to make some extra money.

I just bid and bought my second domain with this program this morning… I plan on pushing a BANS/Blog site to it over the next few days and will be writing another post about the outcome very soon!!
It is definitely instant traffic!!

I just bought Revenue Domains Exposed. Most of information I already knew but the ebook kind of tied it all together, so I think it’s great. I have found several domains already.
My Question: I’d like to hear opinions about how much difference you have observed in buying expired domain names vs registering a new domain. Mark, what’s your update? Has this been consistently working for your sites?
Hi Mark,
Wow thanks for this link…it comes right at the beginning of my BANS experience.
I have now purchased it, and I am sure it will help me on the road to being able to make choices.
Regards
Sam
Hi Mark
Came across this post as I was trawling through some of your older stuff. Very interesting & not something I had thought of before
Any updates on how this is going?
Definitely another avenue to investigate, but then the more I delve, the more avenues I find to follow up on & am quickly creating more work than time available
So it;s good to find a recommendation from someone who’s opinion you trust, rather than a standard ‘squeezed’ sales page!
