More BANS WordPress Templates Popping Up!

Today, August 2nd, I received an email from a reader showing me a new template package that Dave (Soggy, an Admin on the BANS forums) posted for sale last night just a few short hours after I posted the BANS StudioPress Theme for WordPress on this site. In light of both of us coincedentally releasing the same thing on the same day, just hours apart, I have decided to make the BANS StudioPress WordPress Themes package free to all!

Download the WordPress themes from Here first

Download the BANS Theme Package Here!

Anyone who has paid, please send me an email so I can refund you.

Just to be forthright, the coding of the templates are quite different and this must truly be a coincidence. I purchased his set this morning to have a look at it myself.

I read Daves blog regularly and we have shared several opinions in the BANS forum. He provides quite a bit of insight on BANS and affiliate marketing in general. Just to be clear… this was pure coincidence on the template release yesterday.

That sucks ass man. I nowhere thought that Soggy would be such a person – or did I misunderstood something now? I mean come on, I could now release my own wp themes with bans and using your code but for what purpose? I mean at least I would mention that my work is based on yours to keep your credits in there and try to improve your work :) Badly I don’t have time for such experiments…

    @ Manuel –

Just to clarify… I don’t think Dave is that kind of person either. I have participated in many discussions with him in the BANS forums and I value his opinion on many topics.

I truly think this was a coincidence in regard to the StudioPress themes.

I cannot wait to see your e-Book and Video tutorial on how to convert almost any WordPress theme to work with your Build a Niche Store Site. You product is consistently top notch!
    Thank you Mark!

Mark..you and Dave both seem like stand up people…so in light of that was any reference to whatever earlier dealings you guys had all that necessary?

What were you looking to accomplish by that? It’s your blog…just offering my 2 cents.

    @ Bill -

I wanted to try and convey that there was a bit of history… after reading it a 4th time, it could easily be taken the wrong way.

Thanks for reminding me to read again!

I have edited the post to remove any reference.

Again…none of my business….just offering my 2 cents.

Soggy was giving away the Studio Press theme as a BANS template a couple of months ago. I used it for one of my sites and added a blog to it. My guess is he has been working on it for a while and this was truly a coincidence.

Here’s the site using he theme: http://www.shopmountainbikes.com

I just read it and doesn’t seem like you have any issue with Dave! It is a sweet template and I really appreciate you making them free! So does my wife whose BANS site is getting the first one!

Mark sounds like you jumped the gun here as Soggy has been distributing that theme for a while. I am curious too why you would jump in his forum post as well. Just does not seem very big of you on your part.

    Hi Mark,

Could you kindly provide a Video Tutorial on the installation of your StudioPress Wordpress/Bans Theme. This is always so much easier to understand for newbies like me.Thanks for all your guidance.

    @ Jason -

At the time I created these yesterday morning, Dave did not have the WordPress version. Otherwise, I would not have spent the time.

These were done at the request of a reader who was using the same theme and wanted to incorporate WordPress to his BANS site, without changing the look.

I do appreciate your point of view, but please… understand the chain of events. These were posted here at 2PM yesterday afternoon. I didn’t even know of Daves template until a reader sent me an email this morning, when I saw the same edition on his site, which incidentally, was posted at 8PM last night.

    Mark,

    Another one for you…..

The “BANS footer php “. file contains the word “HVAC” which appears as the title in the right sidebar in your examples. I believe the solution is to edit ‘footer php. to contain what ever title the individual wants in the sidebar for his/her eBay store. This should be done for all four of the Themes.

I am new to Wordpress so not sure why “BANS footer php.” contents affect the sidebar?.

I am surprised no one else is commenting on this. I wonder how many have started to use the theme?

    Take care!!

    Mark,
Your WP BANS templates intrigue me. I am a little unsure how you actually use it. I have just started blogging, but feel rather without direction. Do you have an actual store that you have set up that you could let me know about, so I could take a look at how you are setting one up? I saw your “Cures” website, and it looks like an actual store, but I was unsure. (Some of the installation instructions were a little intimidating though.)

I can see the benefit of using a blog connected with a BANS store. I have seen almost as many referrals to some of my stores coming from my blog, even though only a few people are posting comments as I get from my Squidoo lens. (Not to mention building content for your site.)

And feel free to come by my site at lionmom100.com (Lionmom’s Musings)

    Mark,

I followed your install instructions to the letter and I got the following message when trying to change to Studiopress template, “Stylesheet is missing.”. I checked all of the folders and I see nothing missing.

    Any Thoughts?

  • Mark (author) said:

Just to be sure… I have seen this message from several people now. I have walked through the install myself on several test sites to be sure as well.

Are you all uploading the FULL FOLDERS, including the stylesheet files?

Someone please shoot me over thecPanel login info to one of the sites with issues so I can jump in and look at what might be happening.

  • Mark (author) said:

Also – The stylesheet for the wp-content/theme files are not part of the zip file. Before you can use these templates, you MUST go to http://www.dailyblogtips.com/wordpress-themes/ to download the wordpress themes.

The files in the archive are only the files needed for the BANS portion.

    Hey Mark,
Thanks for the great work on the templates. I’m developing a new niche site using one of these templates and ran across a problem with page ordering on the nav menu. I dont know if anyone else has seen this problem.

It seems that this wp theme uses page ID to order the pages in the nav menu rather than the menu_order field from the database.

I edited both the /store/inc-bans-header.php and the /wp-content/themes/StudioPress/header.php files to allow this to function correctly.

I can post these or send them to you or anyone that would like them.

    Thanks again!

    Joe
