New WordPress Plugin – WPBayAds – Developing

I saw today that there is a new plugin available for everyone who uses the eBay Affiliate Program. The Plugin is named: WPBayAds

I am in the midst of installing and configuring it on an existing domain that is popoulated with more than 200 WordPress topical posts already… I will write a full review tomorrow. The only downside I see for others right now is that it cost $49 per site! In my own opinion, thats a GOOD thing, not bad!

BANS was hurt when people built thousands of sites using one single license, this new limitation may actually be good for buyers in that it wont be abused!

Developing…

    Hey Mark,

I gotta ask, have you tried using PHPBay at all? It’s what i know a lot of people are using now, the other is BAYRSS. Any thoughts?

    @ Dan –

I have used EVERY eBay WordPress plugin out there… I am still looking for the right one, even today!

It seems that none of those available truly answer the need. This one here is OK, but it still leaves alot on the table.

    Overall rating… 4/10

I know what you mean, they could all use something. I am building a few now and this plugin sounds like it has the ability to create many pages at once, is that right? Do you have a favorite? And what would be your top 3 most important features for it to have? No more questions, I promise!

    Mark,

I’m not sure how popular this is going to be at $49 per site. I do agree with you about people building thousands of sites with one license. However I don’t see this be much different than using PHPBay or heck some of the EPN tools.

    Hey Mark,

I’m about ready to post a 3rd “niche” site. My first two aren’t very profitable. I think I’ve finally figured out how to choose one. I’m trying to do this right but it seems as soon as I learn one thing, something else comes along. So are you saying we have to use this WPBayAds plugin or is it still by choice?

    @ Dan –

I have a bit of info about a plugin being tested right now that has EVERYTHING we would want in a full solution… it is still several weeks away from completion, but from what I have seen so far, it will be “The” plugin for anyone serious about monetizing a WP blog.

I cannot say too much about it yet… but hope to share more soon.

In regard to the plugin mentioned, I have only tested it briefly tonight… the biggest beef right now is that it uses ioncube and 100% of the code is scrambled, thus making page modification virtually impossible. (I HATE that!)

    @ Bryan -

I have some free plugins that do the same things as this… so I understand where you are coming from.

I will write a full review tomorrow. Don’t anyone get your hopes up on it yet!

    @ Angela –

NO You dont need to use ANY plugins for ebay auctions!!

The output is really, really UGLY!

A basic pull of the RSS feed using something like SimplePie is as effective.

  • Bob said:

I agree with Taoski, their demo page is UGLY! The descriptions below the items all blend together. The days of building 100 plus niche sites is over, so the cost of $49 per site is not unreasonable for 4 or 5 good sites.

I’ve used WordBay on a few sites that I’ve built and sold – it’s half decent, but it’s missing some key features for sure. As far as I know, phpBay is supposed to be the goods when it comes to EPN and WordPress.

  • New & Used iPod's said:

PHPBay is the best wordpress plug-in for EPN integration, period.

I am puzzled why you spend any time looking for something better. It doesn’t exist. + the community is awesome – best forum i’ve even been on.

    Respect :)

Any new insite on this plug in. Im wondering about it.

    @ John -

I walked away from it after a few hours… While it does exactly what the seller states, I didn’t find it flexible enough. I decided not to write the review in the sense of: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing at all!!”
