Niche Store Empire Series – Kim’s Updates!

Obviously I haven’t been good at updating on my progress, but as Mark can attest, I spend just about every minute of my day either working on these sites, dealing with my own ebay sales, running kids to doctors, dentists, orthodontist, softball,lacrosse,blah,blah,blah! In addition, I just took my oldest daughter to DC for spring break (Christmas present for her) and Mark and I are out of town for a week coming up! So, since I’ve now given you all the excuses for why I haven’t posted, I REALLY have been working hard So, here goes

Softball Bats

I’ve finally started to make a bit of money on this one. Put up on 2/8 but not really optimized and submitted to search engines until end of March. I’ve made about $150 in the last 5 weeks

Put up this one on 2/18 - started submitting to search engines and optimizing at the end of March. In the last few weeks the traffic has picked up and I’ve made about $40.

All of the sites above have been submitted in the last 4 weeks via SubmitEdge, Directory Submitter, kaboodle, Stumble in addition to a couple of other directory submitting programs. I currently have about 40 Niche stores up right now in varying stages of building. I’ve been concentrating on getting all updated to epn version and I’ve slowly been updating my 2.0 stores to 3.0.

Hopefully I’ll be better at updating in the future - at least when sports and school are over for the school year!

I’m a bit confused — why exactly are people posting how often their sites get spidered, and almost ignoring people visits and resulting sales?

Has anyone found a way NOT to get deleted from Kaboodle? I love that site, but always seem to get the axe for no apparent reason.

Kim,

Have you had many sales from your non-ebay ads? I noticed that you have a lot of non-ebay ads on your sites. I never mix ads on my sites. If I am trying to sell ebay products then I only use ebay ads. If I am trying to make money from adsense, I only display adsense ads. But, I am wondering about your success with mixed ads.

How much search engine traffic are you getting to your sites? I really wish that this metic would be included in everyone’s update.

I’m totally new to BANS and really like the looks of your store.

From my perspective the site is clean and DOESN’T look like a generic ebay store.

Would you mind sharing the mods you used for that store? As a newbie, I’m still trying to find my ‘jumping off’ point.

Have these sites been converted/updated to Bans 3.0Epn? Or are they still on CJ? My stores were starting to do well prior to the move to EPN? Since then my sales are non-existent. Getting clicks and bids but no sales. Anyway, you sites are nice and good luck on transitioning anything that hasn’t been transitioned to EPN.

Great job Kim! It’s sounds like you are a busy Mom but love working with BANS as much as you can. I’m trying to get my wife on board as well.

On your Mustang site, I like the way you added the “Learn all about Ford Mustangs” in the content pages. Do you know if it’s possible to have that link open in a new window so not to lose your site visitor?

I had tried to put a content page like that b4 and never could figure out how to get the link to work? Does anyone know how Kim did that? Make a content link go directly to somewhere else? I’m sure it’s simple..
