Just trying to get a quick pulse of the traffic and earnings outlook in 2010 so far… and looking for feedback on the questions below. Just to be transparent, I will also answer them myself first! :-)
I truly don’t want or expect to get any EXACT numbers… just a pulse.

Marks Answers to Earnings Poll Questions
1) Do You Still Use ePN and eBay?
Very Little, mostly legacy links I will never change out.
2) If so, are earnings Up or Down?
Total eBay earnings are down due to volume reduction, EPC is actually UP though.
3) Do You Miss ePN and the Old eBay Affiliate Program?
Sure. It was MUCH easier to monetize content or review sites with ePN!
4) Do You Use Adsense, and to What Extent? (Low, Moderate, Extensively)
Yes – Extensively
5) If so, are earnings Up or Down?
Down over the past 15-30 days, considerably! And I have read the same at several popular webmaster forums!
6) Overall, Is Traffic “from Google” Up or Down Across your Network of Sites?
Overall, traffic from Google is about the same, except on one or two sites. A few are way UP, a few are way DOWN. Typical highs and lows of niche building.
7) Overall, are Earnings Up or Down across your Network of Sites?
Overall earnings are down over the past 30-45 days in same-site earnings from last year… but I truly feel its just seasonal and inflated due to the economy. Feb-March is typically the lowest spending seasons of the year! The economy just exaggerates that more.
8) What is Your Most Profitable Niche?
Right now, which is the same as last year, the most profitable sites in Q1 are in the home improvement markets! The most waning sites are in the football and winter sports markets.
How Is Your Niche Network Doing?

I have been doing my part to "Build the Internet" since 1994, when I built my first website! Since then, I have built hundreds of niche websites for myself and many others, focused on design, applications, ecommerce, search optimization and internet marketing.
1) Do You Still Use ePN and eBay?
-yes… probably on about 50% of mt sites… which is very few. Now going forward, I will focus more on amazon, CJ, Linkshare, etc
2) If so, are earnings Up or Down?
-actually up but not to do with epn, but rather that i am catching on to how to build/optimize sites properly
3) Do You Miss ePN and the Old eBay Affiliate Program?
Most definitely…

-Low

-way up… but again… i am getting better at that optimizing thing…

way up. this time last year i was making next to nothing. I am not getting rich by no means but to see a consistent income and build on it helps reassure that it is possible.

… you tell me yours and i’ll tell ya mine. least most profitable is like yourself, in the football market(in my case). Most profitable… still in sports market but very micro niche

Amazon has proven to be a great alternative to eBay… but I still prefer the 7 day cookie of eBay, versus the 1 day at Amazon.

Yes. No longer building “BANS” sites, but kept the ones I already had.

Slowly trending back up to where it was in the good ol’ days.

Mostly up with a few seasonal sites down.

2/3 up, the other 1/3 not doing as well as last year at this time, mostly due to negligence – not much additional content or link building.

Yah, right. My most profitable niche is sports related.

For my sins yes I do, but it’s only on older sites where I have no choice because of product availability but ALL those sites are still doing very well.
2) If so, are earnings Up or Down?
Probably around the same, if not slightly up in comparison to what they were but then I have also made a lot of improvements over the last few months and know I would be making A LOT more with ACRUs

Yes, definitely! QCP sucks! It’s the same with anything like that, all ePN intend to do is make it SO complex that you can never possibly fully understand what your earning from a sale a why your earning it.

Yup, on most sites, more so on ePN sites :)

Earnings are down this month but up overall

Traffic from the BIG G is up overall

In the grand scheme of things they are around what they always are at this time of year, they tend to fall a little for these two months and start climbing again. It’s the nature of the niches I’m in.

Has to be jewellery and kitchen/homewares

Yup! I’ve not been building any back links or doing any articles for a while since I’ve started my new hobby (which I need to turn into a niche store) haha

Some months they are in line with the way things were before things changed at EPN, some months quite lower..

YES! With some of my niches there are occasional very high sales and I sure miss those pay outs!

Yes, started using it more when EPN screwed us over (i mean changed). I get a decent check from them each month so I’m happy with it!

Kinda the same with EPN, up AND down… this month looks to be a good month!

About the same as it always was… hasn’t changed much.

Since some sites are seasonal, up and down, can’t really see a trend moving in one particular direction.

Yup – but have been using it alot less and using Amazon a lot more.

Earnings are down definitely.

Yeah it was a lot easier, I miss the CRU referrals I used to get for sure!

Hell yes

Earnings are up slightly but I have been adding more too.

Traffic is about the same but fluctuates like normal.

Earnings are up overall, but I’m constantly adding more content and working to drive more traffic.

Halloween and Christmas without a doubt.

Yes I still make a much greater percentage of sales via eBay than I’m happy with.
2) If so, are earnings Up or Down?
Currently up and trending up after a disappointing Xmas.

Yes, I hate the lack of transparency in the new system.
4) Do You Use Adsense?
Yes and I’ve just started to work on increasing adsense earnings.

Up! But then I have added ads to a few sites yesterday so no more than I’d expected.

My Google traffic sucks and I can’t get ranked for s**t. I’ve even opened a new webhost account on a different ip for new sites but it still sucks (accept for keywords that get no traffic – ha ha)

Currently up so I can’t complain on that one.

I’ll go with old stuff as well. A lot of my sites get a traffic and earnings boost once they get to the 12 month old stage. My old BANS stores make way more than my phpBay ones though.

Yes, and I’m building more small niche sites to target EPN, but making sure that they are also a perfect fit for Amazon. I figure take advantage whilst I still have an EPN account and at the same time make sure that I can make a quick change out to Amazon if the worse happens.

Up.

Yes, even though I earn more under the new system. I have no understanding of why my income goes up or down.

Yes

There are so many people out there that are much better than me at this, that I dare not say, because I would lose my best performing site. The old 80/20 rule is true, at least in my case – 80% of my income comes from 20% of my sites.

–Yes, just don’t use BANS – switched to PHPBay – Rzon combo.

–Down this month, drastically over the last 5 days. Flat over past 3 months, look at this way eBay stock is up. QCP killed the affiliate.
–Down 20% on a per month average since QCP started

YES

Yes, but sometimes it can take away from the earnings power of ebay and rzon listings, use it sparingly, but only 1 or 2 ad placements depending on the niche.

Earnings are all over the place even on my best niches. It’s like every time I have a great month on EPN, for example, they find a way to screw me out of it the next month. See question 1.

Wow – More people responded than I thought would, thats for sure! :-)
The main thing that jumps out at me from EVERYONE, is that we ALL wish ePN had not taken ther moves it did with the affiliate program!
Shame they could not create some kind of hybrid system – that an affiliate could opt for system 1, or system 2, based on how their business model is set.
High volume sites could stick with QCP – low volume, much more niche focused sites could opt for a sales revenue split type system based on a dated cookie (The old system)

Here’s what I posted on the BANS forum a few days ago:
“Even though March has 62% MORE Total Sales and 42% HIGHER Winning Bid Revenue than January the commission for March is 24% LESS.
What also doesn’t make sense to me is the Gross Merchandise Bought (GMB) is much different than eBay Total Sales Amount.”
The only thing that’s down slightly is epc.

anyway, I ran reports for Jan 1-13 comparing March 1-13. I earned more in the January report than March even though March overall earnings was MUCH higher.

Nothing new, just what hasn’t been converted.

Down. EPC isn’t bad most days, but still blows most of the time. I really miss the ACRUs.

Yes, but I miss my dead dog too. EPN is dead to me and I have no hopes of seeing it flourish in this lifetime.

Traffic is down, but probably due to seasonal niches. I need to do a better job of niche distribution across seasons.

Earnings are DowN from the hay-day by roughly 50%. Yeah, I know … Ouch. I have a full time career though, so the web is my part time passion. I have struggled to react effectively to the changes, but will keep at it.

I really don’t want to say specifically, but it is an outdoor-related niche that I am very passionate about.

Yes, but in developing sites I now focus mainly on Amazon, and use eBay as an add-on and for long tail bait. I construct sites so that I can dump eBay in favor of Amazon if need be.
2) If so, are earnings Up or Down?
Down due to shift in focus, and what I believe is a trend under QCP ultimately to erode affiliate earnings. I believe the algo is designed to chip away at partner revenues over time.

Yes. I have extensive ePN links on my two remaining BANS sites. On my other sites, I have ePN, but more for the traffic that having the word “ebay” brings to a site. The clicks are neglible, and I really don’t care about the earnings, which are almost non-existant now.

WAAAAY down.

Yes. But, on the flip side, I’ve been forced to look for alternatives, and this has brought me to Amazon, which is a great affiliate!

Down, but what’s weird is my click-through ratio has actually gone up.

Some up, some down. Just depends on the type of earnings.

Up by about 25%

Absolutely. You knew exactly where you were with the old model
4) Do You Use Adsense?
Yes, on all sites.
5) If so, are earnings Up or Down?
Up again. Adsense provides about 12% of my income.

I would say down.
