Simple CSS BANS WordPress Template

SimpleCSS BANS WordPress TemplateEveryone has been asking about a very simple and easy to modify css template for BANS and WordPress… here it is! With this very easy to use template for Build a Niche Store and WordPress, you have the ability to change everything!

I am finishing up a few of the cross browser issues on the site right now, but should have it posted for you all within a few hours.

http://simple-css.trybans.com/

Some Notables:

  1. 99.9% Image Free – The only images used on this site are BANS related for the listings, and a single logo image used in the background of the header. If you are familiar with editing the style sheet for BANS, you will have no problem changing any of the colors to suit your own needs!
  2. Sidebars and Footer Widget Ready! -Use the WordPress widget functions to add banners, or add them directly to the code, whichever you prefer!
  3. Small Footprint! – 70k Total – Loads much Faster!
  4. BOTH Versions included in Download – If you have an existing BANS Site and just want a blog in a /blog/ folder, there is a version included! If you prefer the blog on the root of your domain, that version is here as well!
  5. Very Few Template Edits! After that last video, I was determined to find an easier way… Done!

As I am finishing up the install package, if you would like to visit and see if you find more issues… I can address those as well!

Thanks,

Mark

Maybe trying to validate the theme Mark? Great work so far, loading time is very short – and that from Europe.

Looks really clean and simple, for sure. Bring it on! Thanks Mark. I can’t think right now why I would ever again install an out of the box BANS store.

    Keep ‘em coming!

    Looks great, Mark.

Could you please clarify the “single logo image used in the background of the header” in terms of size, type of image, title, etc.

Will we have to use an image that is in an exact size, or can we resize something and adjust the height to maintain aspect ratio?

Is the Title in text that is picked up from BANS, like the traditional BANS templates, or will it have to be part of the image?

I really like with the BANS templates that I can use one of among hundreds of logos I have purchased, just be resizing to the correct width, and adjusting the height in the template accordngly. Then the Title is set in from the BANS admin.

I’m wondering if you’ve ever thought about converting the Cleaker WP template – http://themes.wordpress.net/columns/3-columns/1864/cleaker-21/

If I understand some sites I’ve seen done with this template correctly, the header image is a simple change, sort of like the normal BANS headers.

Thanks again for all the work you do on these,
    Susan

    Hi Mark

I have missed some of your post`s regarding Bans & WordPress do you have any backlinks to this ? I have installed WordPress to my host account so what do i do to use this instead of Bans?

    Regards Ken

    Hi Mark

This looks great. I think you’ll be able to make a boat load of cash with these templates. Congrats.

One thing I’d like to see is the addition of (or instructions) for how to add the advanced search function (zip and miles) as this can very useful for sites selling large items that don’t ship e.g. autos.

Like several other commenters I have gone a bit cold on the traditional html template and with the seo boost given by WordPress (if properly configured) and Googles love of fresh content this is definitely the way to go imo.

I just had another thought as well. Using the functionality of the free version of phpbay we can also include products in posts!

Me again sorry. Done a bit of testing on the template and the search function does not appear to work – the old chestnut!

    Hi Mark,

I love the new template. Thanks.

For existing stores you mentioned a plugin for redirecting you old pages to the new store page locations. Can you re-post what the plugin is?

I would like to use the template on my old stores as well.
