I have yet to use a banner in my header (my niches so far haven't cooperated in this respect - some merchants don't provide enough decent banners) but I would like to know how to get them to rotate. GuitarInstruments.com is one of my sites.

I took each top level musical instrument category and broke it into individual sites. I could have done several things, but it was an experiment. I have a small PPC Campaign for the guitar site and it gets run-off traffic to those other stores.

The link that is supposed to be the Build A Niche Store link was changed so that it points to a music instrument price comparison site that I put together.

I want to upgrade the guitar site, but because I have a PPC campaign running on it, I just haven’t had time.

I did the same linking concepts with some other themed sites – Fashion Accessories, Outdoor Sports and Power Sports. When I did the Power Sports stores I relocated the links to the very top of the header. I see some of the top retailers linking to their other stores. As long as I don’t over do the links, I think it is a good technique.

I am looking forward to reading Mark’s column, later on down the road, in regards to the link strategy.
