The Calm before the Storm
Wow – what a relaxing week of sun, fun, and fishing with a small group of great friends! The week of relaxation started on Monday afternoon with crabcakes from the Provision Company of Southport and the full-decompression mode was on! I brought a laptop with me with never even unzipped the case the entire week, taking the word of someone else that there was no wireless access to be found!
By 10am every day, we either found ourselves fishing off the pier pulling in small sharks, or heading to the point and surf fishing for whatever we could pull in. We never did get out into the deep Atlantic as planned due to the storms off the coast and rough seas, but we did get to spend a full day on a small charter throughout the inlet. The fishing was great and we caught several speckled trout, red drum and even a few good sized flounder.
If you have not vacationed in awhile, even just a weekend away from your PC is a welcome change and you should try it! After all, we work to live right? Not the other way around…
Getting Back into the Swing of Site Development
Yesterday (Sunday) and today, I have been overwhelmed with catching up on emails… as you can imagine, there are literally hundreds of emails I have had to go through and I am doing my best to answer each one before the end of today! I think I made it through about 200 yesterday and should have the rest completed very soon.
Starting tomorrow… we are going to begin planning our new website that will take the rest of this month to be completed! The planning stages involve several key things, but most importantly, interest from you! As we choose our niche market to focus on, we must be sure the site has some form of interest to us! EVERY one of us has something that interests us… from taking pictures to cooking, cars, sports, and everything in between, it should be very easy to find a niche market to focus on! If your ONLY interest is making money from a website… guess what, that’s a niche also!

Welcome back and glad you survived without a computer ;-) Its some kind of refreshing to leave computers for a while, at least for me. Getting back to them, checking emails and campaigns and stuff like that is like christmas :-)
I am not a fisher myself but always interested in seeing other countries techniques. Any photos you can share with us Mark?
Let the games begin indeed… I can’t wait for the next month on here.. it’s gonna be full of genius, I know it!
Glad you had a good vacation! It is nice to get away even if it’s for a day or two.
I do hope you took some photos, if so please be sure to share them with us!
take care,
Christine
Fishing does it for me. I can be just three feet tall with all the stress on me at times but a day out fishing removes that stress and I am back to being sane and 5 foot 9 again.
I have a couple of friends I am going fishing with this week, at two different times. I am really looking forward to it as fishing season here ends in less than one week.
My wife and I are going on our first vacation in 7 years and I am not taking my computer at all. She is wondering if I can survive. :)
Hi Mark,
It’s a perfect message to bring to your readers!
No matter who you are; whether you’re hugely successful right now or on your way there it is vital that you can take time for yourself.
I’m looking forward to the site construction phase as I am actively registering domains right now.
Thanks for the quality content always!
Jeff
Caught a nice 3-4lb black drum at channel marker 1 in the inlet last year when visiting the family. Pretty good fishing there as you know. Yes, a break from the computer would be nice! But looking forward to seeing the development of your next new site.
Glad to hear you had a good time!!
