Alright so lets say you’ve taken the plunge and just purchased BANS. You’ve got a host and you’ve even got the shell of your first site up but then as you’re customizing the graphics and ‘feel’ of your site to appeal to your visitors you start to wonder… who ARE my visitors? Who will find my site and how? What stage of life are they in? What percentage will be female (or male)? What income level are they at?
It seems to you (being a very savvy affiliate marketer) that this information would not only be helpful and extremely valuable to you, but it might prove useful later on when are trying to recruit a few exclusive advertisers to pay monthly fees for exposure on your site. Of course the data would have to be owned by a third party and would need to be readily available and easily understood.
All this to say that you should check out Quantcast Free Internet Ratings (not an affiliate link). Check out their site, type in a few well known site names and see the kind of reporting that you can get. I just added all my BANS sites to be indexed so that I too can have a place to check out what kind of traffic I am getting.
-Hope this was helpful!
