Today is your BIG Day – your site is out there in the blogosphere, search engines have indexed your content and you have opened the doors to traffic! How would you feel if all the places promoting your site (search engines, facebook, directories, other blogs, etc) had a limit on the number of people they would send? What if they had an internal measure and would ONLY send you 10 visitors?
You’ve done all the work on the site… from research to building targeted content and launch marketing. You have made sure they will find exactly what they were looking for when they land on your site, and you have a vested interest in seeing it become a success.
What Have You Done to get those First Visitors Talking about it to Their Friends?

The Web is Evolving – Visitor Reaction is More Important Than Search!
This is not the first time I’ve mentioned that relying on search traffic is a fast track to failure and it won’t be the last! You MUST accept that relying on Google, Live, Bing, Yahoo, or ANY other major search engine is only going to get you so far, for a very limited time, and IMMEDIATELY start catering to the visitors they send you now!
If you can’t answer these questions, OR your visitors can’t SEE the answers to the questions, you don’t have a chance of success!
How Does Your Site Benefit First Time Visitors?
Have you ever wanted your 15 minutes of fame? On your website, its more like 15 seconds! Visit your home page or ANY page, and try to figure out HOW that page benefits a first time visitor! Does it feature low price comparisons? Does it teach them how to do, or buy something? What EXACTLY does that specific page do?
If the answer does not JUMP out at you AND the visitor – find a way to include it! This site for instance, helps people understand “How to Build a Niche Site“, and the majority of people who visit, come to the site looking for answers around that question.
Why Should Your Visitors Come Back a Second Time?
Are you telling your visitors that your site answers the same types of questions all the time? Are you asking them to bookmark the page and come back soon for more information? If not, you should start!
