As Eric stated in a previous post, Content is King. This is true and something that I’ve been rather bad about adding to my sites. There is another way to add content to your sites that has been briefly mentioned but I’m going to expand on. You can use Private Label Rights, also known as PLR, articles.
PLR articles are articles that you can use any way you want. You can leave them as they are (which you shouldn’t, but more on that in a moment) and add them to your site or submit them to ezine directories, you can modify them (which you should) and use or submit them, and you can even claim them as your own work regardless of what you do with them or how you use them.
Above I stated you shouldn’t leave PLR articles as they are. Why? Because you run the risk of using duplicate content if you leave an article in its original state. Google and other search engines don’t like duplicate content because they think you don’t have original content if you are rehashing someone else’s work.
This is easily fixed with a simple rewrite of the article. Change a word or phrase here, change paragraph orders there, and anything else that will make the content your own. A rewrite will take you a few minutes (ten at most, if you aren’t great at writing). Take the time to do this and you will have content that is your own that you can use. Make sure you add keywords so people will find your site in search engines.
So, what can you do with PLR articles? Well, you can add them to your BANS sites, you can submit them to ezine directories (don’t forget to include a link to your BANS site in the ending paragraph), or you can do both.
If you do both then you can use the best version of an article on your site, then create as many variations of each article as you want and submit each variation to a different ezine directory. If you submit articles to ezine directories just make sure they are not the exact same article. Duplicate content is bad, even when submitting to ezine directories. Change the articles slightly then submit them. Submitting articles to ezine directories will not only help bring visitors to your site but will also help get your site indexed.
When I started looking for PLR articles I found a wide assortment of places that offer them. The cost of the articles varied wildly. I joined the best one I found called called PLR Pro.
PLR Pro is a membership site that creates membership groups limited to 200 members each. Each group is given PLR articles unique to each group. This prevents saturation of articles for any particular topic.
Each month members are given articles on 11 different topics. Each topic includes 40 articles. That’s a total of 440 articles each month.
Not only are members given articles but they also get headers for each topic. If you have a hard time creating headers then this is a major bonus. You get .jpg versions of each header so you can use each image as is. You also get .psd versions of each header so you can modify them however you want if you aren’t satisfied with the original image or just want to put your own unique spin on it.
I will admit up front that the cost of membership is fairly steep but the cost of each article comes to $4.78 each. However, you can try them out for free or for $1.
You can try PLR Pro for free at www.free.plrpro.com. This is the free site for PLR Pro and includes two article packs and headers each month at no obligation. The articles aren’t as good as the ones paid members get but they are a pretty good indication of what to expect.
Or, for just $1 you can try PLR Pro for 14 days. If you try this you will have full access to their membership site. This means you can download and use all the articles and headers for that month. You can cancel your membership within the 14 days so you aren’t charged the full amount of membership. Or, you can continue and have access to 440 PLR articles and 11 headers each month.
If you do remain a member you will have a say in what articles are written for the following month. PLR Pro allows members to vote on what topics they want. This can be found in the members forum.
As I stated above I haven’t been good at adding articles to my sites. You can confirm this by viewing any of the sites I listed in my introduction. I don’t think there is a single article on them (which I need to correct). The reason is because I hate taking the time to write them. This may seem ironic given that I’ve written a whole slew of instructions at my Niche Store Strategies site but it’s true. I’m loving PLR articles because it makes this process so much easier.
Before I end this I want to stress again the importance of rewriting each PLR article you use. Don’t use the originals! Make each article your own by modifying it.

Yes, content is King but PLR Pro is not ready for prime time. The have very few categories available. It is a great ideal but until they have a larger library, it is DEFINITELY not worth $97 a month.
It was worth the $1.00 to verify that it isn’t worth $97 just yet. Great concept but not quite ready.
Good point. will try. But still think original articles created by yourself are more useful. It looks that you still share articles with others, even you change it.
eezyy - I actually agree with you. Your own content is best. But services like PLR Pro will help those who either can’t or won’t, for whatever reason, write their own content.
As to their not being enough, I personally can’t imagine needing more than 11 niches each month. But I can understand why some may find this too limiting.
PLR Pro is a tool, one of many that BANS users can use if they like.

I use PLR articles a lot. I buy them from various places but try only to purchase private label rights articles from places where thousands are not using them.
My two favorite PLR sites right now are PLR Pro and Article Underground.
I am not the fastest when it comes to modifying articles for use on my blogs so I usually keep a membership for a month or two and then unsubscribe until I can use the articles I have.
I would disagree that PLR Pro is not that great. They provide me with great articles for content and in multiple languages so I have many more articles than you might think.
I have not been back to PLR Pro for a few months but I would imagine they are still providing the same great quality. Another month and I will be ready to subscribe and get another set of themed articles and make more money online.
As for articles that I create myself being more useful, well I am not sure about that. I sometimes go brain dead for content and with just a few modifications PLR works for me.
I have a dozen blogs right now with a few more in the works and if it wasn’t for PLR articles I would never be able to maintain them. So my vote is for PLR and PLR Pro.
I have been using need-an-article.com. Monthly subscription is 10$ and you can get articles written for a little over 5$ (around 500 words). The articles are original - but I edit them to make them in my voice.
