Quick video post today on how to use the aLinks plugin to minimize the amount of time it takes in writing posts!
Links in today’s video:
I should also mention that while I have not done so myself, I have read that aLinks can be used with your eBay partner ID! :-)
One other notable I forgot to mention… When preparing phrases for aLinks, try to stick with long tail phrases. It will avoid future issues with multiple links in a phrase you meant to be a single. For example: If you chose to use aLinks on a term like “sofa store”, you would be limited on using it in the future… every time you wanted to create a link to a longer tail phrase like: “Luxury Sectional Sofa Store”, aLinks would break your link into 2 links! One for luxury sectional, and then a second for your other phrase, sofa store. Rule of thumb… use on long tails only!

Mark: I have been attempting to use aLinks both at The Niche Store Journey, and on some BANS/Blog sites as well.
I noticed you are using a “outdated” version of the aLinks plugin. Have you attempted using the newer (2.0.1 or newer) versions of the plugin?
If so have you had success?
I have been running into a multitude of errors (most of which literally cripple the blog) with the new versions of aLinks, and I am wondering if I am an isolated incident.
Has anyone had any success with aLinks?
it’s a nify idea but in action I find them very irritating. The pop-ups obscure the text and, often, the link as well.
Apart from the ‘gee-whizz’ factor, has anyone found that they help sales at all?
James
@ Niche Store Journey -
I have the newest version and had issues with it myself on a separate blog… thus I stick with the one that works best for me. I havent tried the other version in several months, more out of laziness than anything else though! I will use it soon to see if the issues still exist.
@ James -
I find it VERY helpful on this blog! I have not tracked it close enough on any of my niche sites to say whether it is worth it or not on THEM, here… it works VERY well!
Edit: 287 clicks on 6 aLinks phrases in last 7 days, 1601 on 13 phrases in last 30 days (On this blog)

@ Mark:
Would you be willing to post the .zip file for the older version of aLinks which you use?
I would greatly appreciate that.
You can grab the 1.0rc2 release at: aLinks 1.0rc2
Mark
The 1.0rc2 version of the plugin is working wonderfully thus far!
Thanks for the link Mark.
I really like some of the features in the new version, but they just simply don’t deliver and cause more problems than solutions.
1- Which is better or recommended? Bans on the domain index or as a directory when using your bans blog template ?
2- When converting a standard bans site to your blog template, do the file names remain the same once it has been coverted ?
Great template by the way.
Chris
Hi Mark,
Your store pages are no opening the

I am really glad you added this video Mark. I didn’t even take the time to look at that ALink plugin.
I have been adding all the links to my store manually, what a time consuming job and to think I had a quick fix for this right in front of my face. Ha
Guess what I will be doing for the next couple of hours.
thanks again Mark
Mark,
I looked into using Alinks, but it uses Javascript to create the links. I’m a bing fan of using links and RSS to help building backlinks to my site. Because this is Javascript, it does zero for SEO.
In spite of that, do you find value in simply having a link in the blog post? Is it enough to use the titles as link bait and hope you can funnel them to your store?
Thanks!
